There are a lot of comments out there saying You don't need shields...do what everyone else does.

So here I ask that question: what will you do , or what would you do?

Besides the typical L2P comments lets try to give this some constructive thought please. preferably screen shot or video to explain your build.

Builds I'm particularly curious about are Niche builds, tank builds, PvP, and VMA builds.

Things from my point of view have gotten exponentially worse, having both our main damage mitigation technique nerfed and heals nerfed, and thus our dps nerfed as well. To the point where I'm honestly stocking up on materials for a complete overhaul.
I have a fairly niche build, OP.

It's not purely DPS, it's not purely geared for Healing. I have never tried it in PvP as I have zero interest in PvP, but it works very well in all PvE situations and allows me to solo every Delve, Dolmen, Public Dungeon, and World Boss that my Sorcerer comes across in his travels.

    Currently, I'm using:

    Bar One
    Destro Staff
    Dark Crystals
    Flame Staff knockback ability
    Mage's Wrath.
I have an Unstable Clannfear and Mage Light with my super toggling between Greater Storm Atronach, Bat Swarm, and Overload (Overload is only used in taking on a Dolmen).

    Bar Two
    Resto Staff
    Blessing of Light
    Area Heal Skill
    Regeneration Skill
    Mage Light
    Unstable Clannfear (for aggro/intercept)

I generally spam my Mage's Wrath and knockback until the Dark Crystals proc and I can launch them for free with the boosted damage. I drop the Ultimate Ability when the groups get larger or I can't get my Crystals to proc. I'll switch to bar two and start spamming my heals while my Clannfear does the heavy lifting for those rare times I really start getting my butt handed to me.

So the changes in dark Brotherhood aren't really going to affect me so much. I don't use Shields in any way.

To modify my build for Vma it will be simple,

Harness magika become my only shield since the other shield would cost too much and won't provide the same potential regeneration. Might still use conjured ward in trial for the bonus it offer to my raid but that's it.

Molag Kena is out of the question, I'm currently thinking about bringing back my Nerieneth also with lag I had a hard time latly to properly do MA in between force pulse stuff so with Nerieneth I'll be able to focus on LA instead of heavy.

As far as the rest goes I mean... if bound armor stay how it is I don't see myself making much adjustment over my build since that skill is such a pain to avoid if you want a fast run... Might consider dark conversion + Shield + Surge on my overload bar since liquid lighting might not be that usefull there....

So that's about it for my mag sorc.

The actual lost would be 2% spell domage in normal dps mode but a small gain with nerieneth since I don't proc kena that much in vMA. Huge lost on my overall overload, ressource management might work but might also be bad... will probably be double barring overload in order to have acces to a heal quickly if needed since I don't thrust Surge to do the same kind of job on a high crit build. So also 2% max magika and 2% regen...

That's about it, so I'm not that nerf ;)

I have one main and always will, my Sorc. With DB, it looks like I will find another MMO to play. How can ZOS rip us apart the way they have? If they don't fix, I will most likely not come back to ESO in the future.

Whatever guys, quit acting surprised. It's what ZoS does. This game just flip flops every 3 months.

That's what really bugs me. They come in every 3 months and drop a bomb, laugh and leave.

These patches are suppose to bring us closer to some sort of balance. I can't help but wonder what the *** is wrong with them.

Well, I only have one character and only have time for one character. I have a sorcerer and a ton of completion on it. It's too painful to grind every delve, shard, world boss, dungeon achievement, crafting research, and max out all non-class skill lines up to where I'm at now (not to mention Cadwell's Silver/Gold).

I'm going to be finishing the last of the PvE content I have left to finish on my sorc and then go on hiatus with ESO (for the second time) until one of two things occur:
    - ZoS implements complete character editing
    - Sorcerers are overhauled to my satisfaction

I chose a sorcerer over a year ago and this upcoming patch is punishing me for that decision. I feel the pain of the stamina DKs out there who signed up a year ago to be a firebreathing dragon warrior, only to be a "puke knight" in a couple of weeks. Why character editing isn't in the game already when ZoS is making such monumental (and many unwanted) changes to classes is beyond me. Many of us have a ton of time and MONEY invested in these characters and rerolling a character is a waste in every sense of the word.

Bah, I'll continue with my sorc and find a workaround. I'll also continue with my dragonknight, nightblade, and templar. I just modify my skills and gear when this happens.

You would appear to have the luxury of time. I have a job and a family, so geting to play is a limited venture for me. I don't have the time/interest in rerolling characters. I'm a conpletitionist and don't fancy losing over a year's amount of progress (with 100% PVE content complete in Cyrodiil/IC, which was an infuriating grind) because too many kids cried 'nerf' in PvP. Pets can't be used effectively without shields and light armor provides meager defenses, requiring ward to patch defenses in battle. What damage bleeds through the shield is healed off and the shield is reapplied - that's how it's supposed to work.
    - The sorc has no identity anymore beyond 'crystal fragments'. We have burst damage and mobility, of which the former is getting butchered by the shield nerf. Micromanaging shields will cause a lack of DPS, the only role we excel at. Other roles can be attempted, but are not as synergistic or efficient.
    - Nightblades have 'fear' and 'cloak' for infinite CC, along with passives that give them everything: movement, defense, damage, resource regen, resource pool increase, and ultimate regen. There's literally no sacrifice a nightblade has to make - equal distribution of stamina and magicka options to utilize.
    - Templars have 'breath' and 'sweep' for huge burst heals. They can sustain and heal with a variety of buffs, but lack mobility. Can function equally as magicka or stamina.
    - Dragonknights have 'battle roar' and 'helping hands' for massive resource management, but lack mobility and burst damage. They excel at DoT damage. Can function very effectively as a magicka, with self-heals from 'burning embers' and can moderately work as stamina, but looses its 'dragon warrior' identity in the next patch - hence, the 'puke knight' title.

There's the state of ESO for you in a nutshell.

Enjoy my new OP shield stacking.
Do the complainers even play a sorc, im constantly throwing wards when I tank dungeons and in PVP.

i have 3 srocs. leveled them all in PvP. i know how to play a sorc. problem is i found playing my sorc boring on the PTS. which is why i'm giving up on it, i don't want to play a class i'm not having fun with.

With the constant knee-jerk nerfs (and buffs) I would advise to level multiple classes to avoid frustration.

I leveled a Dunmer DK and a Bosmer NB a while ago, I choose Dunmer and Bosmer because its viable for both stamina and magicka builds.

Sorcs kinda are getting a buff next DLC.

Run the stamina drain/immoveable poison on your weapon. Since everyone relies on stamina for break free, it the smarter choice. Run defensive rune.

Open up DPS on your target, as soon as they hit you they get trapped via defensive rune giving you a few moments to apply shields (dampen and empowered ward) and streak away. Keep entropy up.

    Rinse/Repeat

You're only looking at the Sorcerer changes from a PvP perspective. Defensive Rune is worthless in dungeons and trials. Poisons have no use in PvE as mobs have nearly infinite resources, barring their health pool. My complaints are in regards to the impact of PvE, you know - the ACTUAL game.

I only have the one sorcerer who is one of my crafters. But while hunting skyshards, alliance motifs, and leaching AP ticks, I discovered she's a pretty good healer. So I rolled a new one to be a healer in my main alliance. Yes I have a magicka templar now, but my build's also been hit with a number of changes so it's best to have a backup plan.
