While I somewhat agree with the posts questioning the validity of the actual test, I believe the point the OP is trying to make is that simply by using the Impen trait, medium provides better resistances (to crits) compared to heavy armor as a base. As a point of comparison, medium brings damage and sustain built in, while heavy armor needs to compensate by using traits like divines or infused paired with the appropriate Mundus stones to achieve a remotely similar effect.
