When making a build for my character should I focus on two different builds (Both bars have sustain, Damage, and execute) or should I utilize both bars for one build (have damage, sustain damage, sustain, an execute, and CC with both bars combined together)?
It's a weird question but I've watched alot of people online and I've seen alot of different ways to play and I'm wondering is there a preferred method
With Wykidds(sp) addon, I have about 6 different ability bars I can swap to (out of combat of course).
I have ST bar, AOE bar, a resto bar for heal if I think I might need it, and a couple dps/buff bars. I change up depending on if I am going into a dungeon, solo questing, going into a public dungeon, etc. I rarely run the same two bars from night to night, it all depends on what I am doing.
Some go with a buff bar / damage bar, which would be a good all around combo.
typically i think what most people do (imo) is have their main bar be offense and their back bar defense with MAYBE 1 or 2 offensive abilities on the back bar

I can only assume you are talking dungeons, as solo you can pick any 10 abilities at random and complete 90% of the content. A good combo that works for me is:
Bar 1 is mostly AOE focused with an ultimate generator (I use the first NB assassin Ult for this).
Bar 2 is mostly ST and buff/defense type stuff.
For trash, you hit your buffs on bar two while tank takes a few swipes, then swap and go AOE nuts.
For bosses, you pretty much stay on Bar 2 and spam ST stuff while maintaining buffs and keeping yourself alive.
If you don't have add-ons, or are lazy, this would work for anything outside of dungeons as well, obviously.
If PvP please specify and perhaps someone else more experience with that can assist.
When making a build for my character should I focus on two different builds (Both bars have sustain, Damage, and execute)
Having two bars that do the exact same thing will just make bar swapping irrelevant.
I personally set up my bars as one for single target damage, and the other for buffs, AOE and the like.
Magica templar one for close, one for rang
Mag sorc one for buff, one for crowd combat close, one for single target
Stam nb one for melee, second mostly for utility.
Any or all can work.
Just figure out what you need for a given character.
