Battle spirit and a game that allows too much damage stacking

Currently in game dps, runs rampant, people stack it above all else.

Currently a good dps can put out 30k dps.

To offset these ludicrous figures, battle spirit halves damage and healing.

Why is this?

Surly if your dps numbers are high enough to kill yourself in under a second, without battle spirit, your dps is too high.

People are running over mechanics in pve, because dps is so high.

Dps is so high, people are saying you don't need tanks and healers in pve.

What if they changed battle spirit, to just give you 5000 extra health. The numbers you see would be the same as pve, it would feel more natural.

All they would need to do is half damage output in all the game. Think about it :)

    Once they have it they wont give it up.
    And they always want more.

    It was obvious that the powercreep train would start by removing softcaps and introducing cp later.
    And they won't do anything about it, instead they will probaly add a bandaid fix to the bandaid by increasing the battlespirit debuff at some time when dps is too high again.

    So the dead person obviously didn't have his stamina based block up 100% of the time (or the more acceptable magicka damage shield version) and had plenty of time to react and respond anyway right ?

    This game and what is deemed acceptable leaves me dumbstruck sometimes.

    All buffs should be removed from PVP period.

    The lag would be fixed, not of this major this, minor that.

    A brand new simplified meta would emerge, one shots would be null and void, no crazy and op resource management, just the basics.

    As for PVE, keep it as is and continue to make new content like MoL, can't complain about too much dps in there because even the best of the best take longer than 5 min to kill a boss.

    The damage in PvP wouldn't be such a problem if they got rid of the shield and healing nerf from Battle Spirit. I've never understood the point of nerfing heals, shields AND damage, when damage was the problem all along.

    What about classes that lack reliable shields as well as healing potential?

    If they did that, how long would you live for in PVP? If people can kill you before you even notice you have been jumped, how much fun will that be?

    They can't remove the nerf to damage and heals from battle spirit unless the just flat out halve damage and heals.

    It's times like these when parents make the call for what is best for thier kids, I don't think ZOS has the spine for this though.

    It needs changing for the future good of the game, forget the moaning on the forums, that will dissipate in time.

    It's like the VR issue all over again.

    I was running a DPS build that when buffed would go pass 4k weapon damage, then I wanted a little more regen and stam pool. I like both build but burst damage to me isn't as fun as constant damage. But the idea is solid and people would call for a nerf before it happened.

    It is messed up that the devs acknowledge dps is so high that they have to not only halve the damage and heals in PVP, but also give you extra hit points, because halving alone is not enough.

    How can they not see that this was going to be a huge problem. Iceberg ahead? Nope that's just an optical illusion.

    why do you think they make all these changes, like adding posion's (that ravage resources), increase costs on certain resources,, add more mitigation stacking in CP....Its all to make it take more to kill some one....and why..... because then you have to balance resources.

    its a finite thing you can add damage or add regen, its hard to do both. Every little bit less damage you can do, or every bit more cost it takes to kill someone, the more resources you have to spend overall. And therefore every bit more you have to focus on resources,. and every bit you focus on resources is a bit less damage you do.

    There is a certain amount of regen you need to stay in a fight long enough to kill without sacrificing everything for raw damage or vice versa where you can never out dps the heals but dont run out of resources.

    when they made the big change to damage/healing and shields in cyrodil it was very heavy handed, now they are trying to balance it out. even the CP changes are about balance and preventing power creep (imo). if they introduce mechanics that cost you resources (seige changes, poisons costs of dodge roll, etc etc) it forces a player to go more into resources to be viable and creates this balance where 1 shot builds have no place in PvP.
    This is the reason i have no problem with changes to the nightblade damage on PTS 2.4.3 because its the only stam class i play that doesnt need to sacrifice damage for regen. the cloak ability allows for a great amount of disengaging from the combat. and that ability to engage and disengage from combat allows you to go more into damage and far less into resource management than other classes have to. It will still be very strong
