Cyrodill - Can someone please explain

So, was on playing PVP last night and came across the weirdest thing. Some AD players were seiging a DC keep. Was 1 DC there who went around and helped them, even by firing his own siege against his own keep. Granted there was player(s) to stand and keep repairing the wall that was being constantly hit.

I went in ganking the DC players, got a few but then the AD and DC team up on me, and chase me down to kill and then resume.

I assume they are working together to generate a lot of points for leader board or for better prizes and such. I checked the ranking and 1 DC players, was x5 points over any EP/AD and the campaign just started like 20 mins into it.

Is this a common occurrence?. Is it against the rules for cross faction point/leader board fixing?. I took screen shots because it was so unbelieveable but didnt want to post incase against forums rules or some dirt.

Many thanks!

Yeah you're right to not post as it's against the forum rules to "name and shame". Whilst it's not officially against the rules thus nothing can be done, it is obviously frowned upon.

Well then don't gank people ;)

Seriously though, this is common occurance and happens across all three alliances. It should be against the rules but it's not.

HAHA so let me get this straight, some people are helping the enemy?
Take them round the back and shoot them for treason.

Seriously PvPer has me baffled sometimes.

Ok thanks for reply - didn't know if it was against the rules for point fixing.

I only used the term gank because it was only me, and many different enemies, so all i could do was hit run run style, while i was watching what they were doing.

Does seem a poor shout to be fixing points, means you either do this, or never get Emp ^^

As long as there has been PvPer ranks in MMOs they have been rigged.

Take WOW for instance, back when they had Warlord/Grand whatever, guilds on both sides on my server got together and 'agreed' who would be top for the next few months, BGs were 'rigged, deaths faked, objectives left unguarded for points to be had.
Not illegal but then again not very good show.
Pretty much everyone on the server lost all respect for the four guilds involved.

    Be safe

It'd be pointless for the DC to shoot siege at his own walls.. you can't damage your own keeps.

But yeah, players loading up a different faction toon so the first faction can dragonleap or ambush in, is pretty common since they changed the rules on not having multiple faction toons on the same account in the same campaign.

During the Sypher stream last week-end (non-vet campaign), I was contacted by a blue leader who told me that we should ally ourselves against the Sypher zerg.

It worked OK at first, but when some blues decided to ignore the "alliance" and take our keeps, it reverted to a 3-way war quickly.
Zeerok (the sneaky ruffian) - LV50 Bosmer stamblade DPS (AD)
Gontrand de Bourbon (the greedy aristocrat) - LV50 Breton magsorc tank (DC)
Augustus Aquilarios (the imperial claimant) - LV50 Imperial stamDK PvP (EP)
Zeerokk (the AD zealot) - LV50 Altmer magblade PvP (AD)
Lianna Storm (the inferno maiden) - LV50 Dunmer magDK DPS (EP)
Fights-With-Khajiit (the gullible faithful) - LV5 Argonian templar (EP)
Miner'va (the skooma addict) - LV3 Khajiit sorcerer (AD) - chaotic neutral
Siggy Thorvaldsson (the charismatic baroness) - LV50 Nord stamwarden tank (DC)

Happens on a daily basis in PC EU Trueflame. Green alliance is constantly up and about. I personally take that as a compliment, as in - we are that good that the enemy needs to forge temporary alliances to bring us down as on their own they are useless xD Helps me look past it.
    Sometimes, I dream about...cheese...

OP it's similar to when people are in grind spots and other people come there see people there, log off their chars on the same faction, log in on chars from enemy factions kill the grinders who are in "their" farm spot. Then log back in to the chars they wanted to grind with and continue. They will proceed to log out and log in on the enemy chars as many times as needed to prevent others from grinding there.

Imo there should be a place to name & shame the leader-board fixing though cause it's connected to being Emperor. If it was just rewards by all means do what you want to do....

    AP = money.
    Farm money.
    Win

And this is why we need treason in game.
This is why faction swapping at leisure was a bad idea.

People exploited the arse out of treasure nodes to get rich.
    Was actioned the same day.

Somehow what amounts to the same thing in Cyrodiil is fine

That is different than someone being able to actually attack their own keep or faction players.
Say, if me and my brother choose to keep killing each other from other factions for AP sure, but from what I read in OP the player was actually killing his own faction and attacking his own keep besides enemy faction players. That's don't sound like that should be possible, just me though.
