Should Meteor cost the same as Dawnbreaker?

As a Magicka DK they are taking away DB from my build which really lacks the burst damage in PVP. I know they are trying to make things more equal and making fighters guild be stamina and mages guild magicka. But if they are trying to make it fair then why does our ultimate cost twice as much? Also ours puts a huge circle around the other player for a couple seconds telling them "hey here comes our ultimate, get ready to block". But you give already the strongest 2 classes in PVP another uitimate. Atleast have our Mage's guild ultimate cost the same as Dawnbreaker if you are going to try and make things equal and fair.

    You bring up some very fair points man. I will be hawking this thread for responses by people much smarter than myself.

    Hopefully people write a response to address each of yours and not face palm the keyboard.

    And Meteor is ranged, undodgeable, uncloakable, unreflectable and block is the only valid counter.

    ill tell you what the extra damage aoe is devastating in the sewers since you are faced with a choice back out of it and wait it out(they may run back stealth and wait to gank), run forward out of it but they may knock you back into it again with WB( normally I see people running in pair ganking), or stay in it and try to survive. when used in those tunnels it can be a huge advantage to have the dot.

    Meteor is a ranged, high damage area of effect with an extended DoT and snare or ultimate return. Dawn breaker is a quick, short and sweet melee with a limited DoT and this is reflected in its cost. So no meteor should not be any cheaper.

    DB is a melee skill, in a stamina line. Both morphs should be stam.

    Dawnbreaker should cost the same as Meteor, not the other way round. It cannot be cloaked like meteor.

    Mind you, NB has a better ult that scales off physical damage so really, that would just be another stam sorc nerf!

    Meteor is ;

    1. Ranged
    2. AOE
    3. DOT
    4. Returns ultimate or slows (depending on which morph)
    5. Unreflectable
    6. Undodgeable
    7. Only blockable

    If you are a magDK try using fossilize before meteor lands for guaranteed hit. MagDK is sorely in need of buffs but reducing meteor cost is not the way lol. It would make other mag builds with good burst OP as F. Also if i recall correctly nbs cant cloak away meteor anymore?

    Dawnbreaker is just a short meelee ultimate with a decent DOT.... This is reflected in its cost lol... If we want all things to be fair this is never going to work...

    For ex:

    3 class skill lines (90% mag morphs)*4 classes + 2 weapon lines (staves + resto) + 1 guild = almost 14 skill lines for mag
    5 weapon lines + 1 guild line + (leftover class moprhs) = 7 skill lines for stam...

    Off the bat most options are given to mag. If we want all things to be exactly the same then we would need to restructure this game like crazy... Every skill needs 1 stam 1 mag moprh, mag needs 3 weapon lines and stam needs 3 weapon lines etc etc..

    (2)V16 Dk- stam dps/stam tank/mag dps
    (2)V16 Sorc- mag dps/stam dps
    (2)V16 nb- stam dps/mag dps
    (1)v16 temp- mag tank/mag dps
    CP: 610 and counting

    It should definitely cost less since it's a weak ultimate or buff it since anyone with half a brain can block or stealth away from a Meteor and do nearly no damage.

    And by no rational reason should a Stamina DK be 20 times stronger than Magicka DKs and then you take away an ability we sorely need. Magicka DKs had 2 ways of getting burst damage, Dawnbreaker and Proxy Det, guess what, one got nerfed and one got changed to stamina, They are *** Magicka DKs over right and left and they refuse to fix Dragonblood and make whip a decent damage ability in PVP.

    This exactly, meteor is insanely weak in PVP due to this reason. If they both cost 200 ultimate i would choose Dawnbreaker every single time because any avg player will block it and move out of the ground dot and basically take no damage to Meteor.

    I play melee not range, and also then Dawnbreaker needs to start giving 2 sec warning before it lands so any reject can block

    i dont play ranged, i play melee and used DB a 1000 times and never once has somebody cloaked or dodged it ever. But meteor is blocked by any halfway decent player, its a joke of an ultimate in PVP.

    Great idea. On my sorc with the scaled pontates set dawnbreaker costs 75 ulti and shooting star restores 72 ulti when I hit enough targets. So if they change the costs of meteor to be the same as dawnbreaker, I would have I nice spammable ranged aoe dps skill :D

    definitely have some good points - would it be so hard to base it off the biggest pool (mag/stam) then both are happy, not just make something I've always used, not worth using on my mag classes any more

    Meteor is ranged... And one provides ridiculous amounts of ultimate.

    Keep the price the same but perhaps have the ice comet buff spell damage.
