Just asking because I'm sitting up the game on an older pc and trying to decide between two different processors I have.

    It tends to make poor use of cores 2,3,and 4 but while not well optimized for quad cores it certainly runs better on a quad then a dual or single core CPU (presuming similar architecture and clock speeds).
    Semi retired from the trading aspects of the game.

    This game relies on single core performance, you can forget about multithreading till we get DX12 support.

    So would a q8200 quad core 2.33ghz be less performance than say a e8600 duo 3.33ghz?

    My Dual Core works fine with ESO. I just had to upgrade the video card with DX11 support.

    ESO clearly favors the first core while the other 3 are only marginally utilized ...

    PS: This is not new, the CPU usage has always looked like this.

    Forgot to mention:

    Except when ESO glitches and one of the cores spikes to 100% and stays maxed and as a result my FPS drops down to <10 and the whole game becomes unplayable.

    Yeah, no way anything designed around the hero engine is utilizing all 4 cores efficiently. Its one of the worst engines on this planet. We'd have a lot better performance on our i7s if that was the case. Star Citizen does a good job though.

    This right here is what people need to look at. And I thought they fixed the stuck FPS issue? Guess not :P

    All I wanted to know is which one would perform better for about a week I gave my old pc to my kid and am throwing a temp one together out of old stuff laying around I dropped the e8600 in the motherboard this morning and it's actually doing well kinda weird.
