What isn't OP?
I'm a new player and have been reading the forums quite a bit trying to figure things out.
It is funny, I see posts calling pretty much every class OP.
The only thing people seem to agree on is that stamina Sorcs are not OP.
From what I gather reading the forums, NB is most OP, stamina DK is as OP or more OP according to some, Templars are OP or at least their beam is, and caster Sorc is definitely OP.
In MMO's I always try to go off meta and don't want to find myself being another dime a dozen fotm build.
So in light of DB coming out, can I get some definitive power rankings, and some idea as to what isn't going to be the FOTM?

✭✭✭✭✭To be honest, game balance is a dynamic thing and not fixed as most people think. There are some classes which can perform outstandingly in a certain situation and often this leads to think that the class is OP. Sure there are some classes that excel in several situations but still there is nothing like the absolute best.

Serenityx✭✭✭Several things that are "notably" OP -
•Vicious death set, causes enemys to deal 14,000 or some odd number damage to surrounding allies when they die. This is most efficiently used by magicka NB, and probably why your seeing people refer to NB's as "OP". Also, usually people are reffering to magicka nb. Stamina nb are pretty decent, but some of their key stamina abilitys suffer from ZOS incompetence. (look into killers blade stamina morph)
The next is a bit simpler
•Sorc shield stacking, spend an hour in cyrodil and you will come up against one of these guys. The only thing worth noting here is that shields are 100% passively resistant to critical damage, as well as stackable and currently low resource cost.
•The beams people refer to is radiant destruction. Basically from what I understand (and have experienced) is it deals high damage (as it is an execute skill, which means it deals increased damage the lower target health gets) and what I understand the OP factor is that it has very long range + other recent alterations to the skill have made it pretty difficult to dodge via breaking its line of sight (LoS).
There are a few other things that I consider a nuisance in PvP, but wouldnt deem "OP" in light of the above abilitys/sets etc. Soft CCs being one of them, Im not sure of all the classes/abilitys have access to these but they are very annoying as their is no immunity bonus for countering them (the break free mechanic is also not required to counter them) One I do know of is burning talons which I believe is a DK skill. There are also skills which provide immunity to these, making said skills (The medium armor skill shuffle, as well as the Assault skill rapid maneuvers and its morphs) mandatory which is why I consider them a nuisance.
Dont have much experience with many of the classes in the game, but the above covers the most OP things from my PoV.

This is more or less how they currently stand.
Interesting how your PVE and Large Scale list is the same, and stam DK is a consistent number 2. I think next patch, the most common OP cry will be a stam DK. There are a few item sets that synergize really well with Stam DK, and they are getting nothing but buffed. Also, I think the highest parse so far on the last boss of VMOL is a stam DK.
From a PVE Standpoint, your list is pretty good. I think Stam DK has the potential for the highest parse, and Magic NB is the easiest way to get a really good parse. Magic Templar is in a great spot for the new trial because their execute duration is so long, but on shorter fights, they are very average. The biggest change here is that Magic DK is no longer the king of PVE DPS. I still like magic DK for the 60 second stack and burn, but they struggle in the new trial because they lack range and the bosses are very mobile.
PVP is a little different animal. There are a lot more ways to accomplish the same goal. PVE is a little more narrow with build selection. Magic Sorc has been "OP" according to some for a while because of shields, but that is getting changed. Both Stam DK and Stam NB are getting buffed, and they were already very solid. I personally like the stam playstyle for PVP, especially small scale stuff. Templars are being called OP because of their execute, but it is trivial to counter. If you want to destroy bad players, that's probably the easiest way to do it.
I think the most well rounded class personally is probably a magic NB, but I won't call them OP.Edited by Oreyn_Bearclaw on May 17, 2016 6:21PM1 -

i prefered the way classes were at launch largly, with only a very few omissions.

What i think needs to happen, Keep open dialog with the playerbase, PUT CHANGES YOU THINK OF UP BEFORE YOU WORK ON THEM IN THE FORUMS, we can poke holes in any change thought up far far better than the devs can, save time and money.
and this is the most important, if a the change needed takes time and money, then work on it, even if it takes longer to accumulate the money and set aside the time, its far far better to wait for a good change, than a "band aid fix" to a broken leg. Seriously, if the coding for it takes longer, id rather it take longer than a band aid that will just infect the whole thing.
