Magblade gearing pvp help

So I'm at an impasse. Recently I hopped back on my ps4 account to play with some friends and I'm having a really hard time trying to put together a solid magicka nb build. I feel incredibly gimp and hamstrung by a few limitations....

I do NOT have access to the following....

-molag kena
-maelstrom wep.
-vicious death
-willpower acc. Or weapons (ridiculous prices)
-8 trait crafts
-Nirn honed
-proxy det

I DO have access to the following

-2p engine, infernal maw, bloodspawn
-all 7 trait crafts for light and heavy
-5p pheonix set (don't ask :/ )
-max vamp and mage guild skill lines

Some side notes

I felt forced to go with arcane endurance acc. For now as they were much more affordable as my ps4 account is pretty poor gold wise. Also I'm shy some glyphs due to again expensive glyphs and currently bashing my head against a wall leveling enchanting, at 44 right now. I know dB patch is addressing glyphs as well.

I've tried all combinations of seducer, torugs, Magnus. Julianos was short lived for me as despite siphoning, my sustain was awful in pvp. Also I should note that alot of my sets were a mix of v15 and v16 blue and purp

I can't for the life of me figure out any solid options within my limited resources. I've tried a ranged setup such as

Bar 1 fire destro
Structured entropy
Crippling grasp
Siphoning / d.clench
Merc resolve
Funnel health
Meteor

Bar 2 resto
Double take
Mass hysteria
Cloak
Healing ward
Impale/concealed
Bat swarm

I cant seem to deal enough damage, I don't feel like a ranged magicka set up will work at all despite my efforts, not sure what I can do with a more melee oriented setup without access to the things mentioned above.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A ranged MagBlade setup would definitely work, but you'll need Arch-Mage gear since you give up a weapon slot for a 2H Staff.

    5 pcs gear of choice
    3 pcs Arch Mage
3 pcs Willpower (Use Healthy until you can afford Arcane)

For the 5 pcs set you have several options:

    - Seducer (3 Traits): my current fav, great Mag Regen and Reduced cost of spells
    - Magnus: Offers Spell Damage too, but Seducer beats it with Regen
    - Julianos: I know you said you didn't like it, but it's a pretty decent set nonetheless
    - Kagrenac: have a friend craft it or wait until you have 8 traits on Light Armor

Your skill setup looks good, but I think you should swap skills between your Destro and Resto bars:

    Bar 1: Destro Staff
    - Shadowy Disguise
    - Destructive Clench/Mass Hysteria
    - Crushing Shock
    - Sap Essence
    - Inner Light

    Ultimate: Soul Harvest

Bread and Butter offensive setup: use Disguise for stealth and Precision or to escape battles, Crushing Shock single target and Sap Essence AoE. I prefer Sap over Pulsar for the 20% Spell Damage buff and self healing. Keep Inner Light for the crit buff and Soul Harvest for a fast Ultimate and Ultimate Regen

    Bar 2: Resto Staff
    - Double Take
    - Piercing Mark
    - Siphoning Attacks
    - Shadow Image
    - Healing Ward

    Ultimate: Devouring Swarm

Your buff/debuff bar: buff yourself with Double Take and Siphoning, debuff enemies with Piercing and Shadow Image. Shadow Image is also a nice escape move. Healing Ward for the self heal ofc

This is actually smth I've been wanting to do, but I haven't had the time yet to turn my MagBlade into a ranged spellcaster yet. So I'm not 100% sure how this will turn out (more like 85-90%?). Theoretically, it should...

I build my magic NB for group play in PvP as such, I play a sap tank.

I use 5pc Bahrahra's Curse (Chest, Legs and Feet heavy, Medium Gloves and Light Belt) 5 Transmutation (Arcane Jewelry, Sword and Shield) and 2 Bloodspawn. All Infused with legendary Prismatic enchantments (should be easier in DB when they sell fo 5k tel var stones each)

The whole purpose of the build is simply to survive long enough for your team mates to kill the enemies that are mainly focused on you. Since Transmutation covers your crit resistance, you grant yourself some level of freedom by going full infused to maximize the potential of Prismatic enchantments granting you a great bit of stats overall. I do recommend Immovability pots as a good CC can be the death of you very quickly and cause the build to fail miserably.

If you're looking for more of a burst/gank build that allows you to kill, this isn't the build for you :|

My Magblade doesn't do massive amounts of burst either, always gets the kill, never runs out-of juice and never dies. I prefer this set up but you could just go full damage, soul harvest and Tether as ulti's, Proxy and concealed weapon are good for burst. Tried clever Alchemist yet?

3 Willpower, 5 Alchemist and 5 Eye of Mara is quite nice. Obviously you put the Alchemist on DW and Mara on Resto. Works well.

My magblade is designed for group play, so i made first-line high survival tank build. As NB has great res management and can efficiently regen stamina while blocking i go 5 heavy+1m+1l but DPS oriented sets (julianos, willpower, and torug or mara do not remeber exectly) with 1H&shiled and resto. A can almost perma-block in first line for a long time, and when i need to get a breath i can retreat to the rear and help with healing.

My Mageblade is evolving into a Starcraft's ghost xD
Sarcasm is something too serious to be taken lightly

I was born with the wrong sign
    In the wrong house
    With the wrong ascendancy
    I took the wrong road
That led to the wrong tendencies
I was in the wrong place at the wrong time
For the wrong reason and the wrong rhyme
On the wrong day of the wrong week
Used the wrong method with the wrong technique

Thank you for the replies however I feel I should reiterate a little.

I'm not necessarily trying to make a ranged build work and I understand some good setups that I've come across online via forum discussions. I simply feel that with my current limitations, a ranged build would temporarily be more beneficial to me since I'm lacking valuable set peices and skills that make melee magblade work so well.

My main point is if anyone can lend some help or insight with a setup that is limited to what I have access to currently that was mentioned in the OP. I've tried a few things but not sure if I can make a viable build out of what I have.

Currently working on alliance skill line and I don't plan on getting kena or 9 trait anytime soon unfortunately. :/ gold keys and drops have awarded me with a few complete monster sets that while good, I don't think are very good for magblade.

With the gear limitations I would probably throw on a resto staff and just follow a group around farming AP for a while. I would piece together a 5pc Vicious Death set that way and then have someone craft me a 5pc Alchemist set (Dual Wield) to go with 3pc Willpower. I PvP only a few hours each night and I regularly pick up 2-3 pieces of VD from the worthy bags. Prices on PC are incredibly low for these as well (meaning under 10k for good traits)

If you are V15/16 you should be able to hop into Craglorn for a day of material farming (boring but a must). You have a chance at getting potent nirn which on PC runs 18-21k a piece. The fortified are 4.8k right now. I am not sure about console prices. There have been days where I can make 150-200k farming craglorn a few hours. You can afford your willpower jewelry that way.

If you don't have the gear to run a sufficient build, don't force yourself into it or you will set yourself up for disappointment. Design your build around your available gear, and then work towards what you want. I highly suggest running a heal build for now to farm the stuff you need.
