Champion point cap

j.j.hillsaveryb16_ESO
Has there been a discussion when the champion point cap will be raised from 501, as a lot more people will be reaching it now that they will be getting 40+ for the removal of veteran ranks in DB.

The next discussion is what will they raise it too 601, 751.

I hate doing this, since I can't find a link confirming it, please don't take this as fact... I heard that it was mentioned sometime after DB balancing is done they will be upgrading the cap. What this means... No clue.

    552 is my guess.

It's been over 6 months when it was first shared on ESO live that the idea behind raising the cap would be around 60 CPs or so give or take. Consider that they decision resolves around where ppl are as a mass.

It could be as low as X or as hi as Y when this total CP is raised.

I would say for now, think about this.
They are converting VR levels to CP levels so instead of raising the 501, we will more than likely see a 160-170, 180, 190, 200 change first.

That's my thoughts but nothing was shared or confirmed even on the last ESO live where they just said, they aren't raising the cp cap for this Dark Brotherhood update.

I actually been on this game for almost a month now. I guess I'm fairly new still. I reached Champion Rank 16 by a couple weeks. Reading the other discussion thread, I saw one mentioned he capped at 531 CP. Now, you mentioned in here that it is capped at 501. I'm seeing I earned so far 71 of 167 CP. Not sure if we're talking about the same thing. So, after tapping out at 167, I take it increases then? is there a next batch of bracket to reach? Something I'm missing here? How does it goes up to 501 and 531?

No you dont talk about points per tree (which is currently capped at 167) but about all points so cap is 167*3=501

Right now you can earn as many CPs as you want throughout your VR levels. The 501 caps is how many of those CPs you can actually put into your champion skill trees.

So if you have earned a total of 550 Champion Points you can only use 501 of them in your Champion Trees total. So that is 167 useable points of each of the color group that consists of 3 sub trees.- Blue (mage point), Red (warrior point) and Green (thief point).

The bracket of 167 is per Mage, Warrior and Thief 3 x 167 = 501

If you are VR16 you will be getting 40+ CP as a one time bonus for the taking away of VR levels or 2.5 per level of VR.

CP was capped because some players had over 2000 CP and was gaining an unfair advantage over the more casual player in PvP.

But I would have thought most players would have caught up by now as I am a casual player but can still get 3 CP in a 30 minute playing session with enlightenment and Psychic Ambrosia doing PvE quests in Cyrodiil.

Ok, so you're saying 167 x 3. Now, I'm clearer. Thanks much! haven't caught on before. I'm still a rookie here.. hence the soul shriven title under my name.

Last I heard, their plans were to raise it 51 CP per DLC starting with the one after DB. It has been a while, though that was the rumor back in january or so...

But... they might change their plans, depending on how players progress through the CP. That was what led to their considerations after all - the scope of CP across the whole playerbase. And stopping the hypergrinders from over-widening the power gap to the enjoyment-deteriment of the masses of more casual players was what led to the CP cap in the first place... so we'll see, if players earn more CP then they expected, they may reconsider and raise cap more, if not, then not.

In the end, I care little. As long as I keep earning CP that will someday be useful... as long as I never have that feeling of wasted effort when playing at max level like in other games, when I consider the expees I could have gotten the next time they raise level cap and I lament what I did not gain for my playing... I'll be happy with ESO.
