Do you think this game would of been better with just 1 main instance instead of 3?

That's the question, do you believe the game would of been better where instead of each alliance having their own instance of each zone they instead only had 1 main instance that was shared between all 3 alliances.

This way you could play with your friends from other alliances and choosing an alliance would only determine where you start the game and who you fight for in Cyrodiil, any levelling issues could be solved with optional battlescaling, also the game would feel much more alive and less of a ghost town and it would be easier to find groups and people to play alongside with, it may have also taken up less space on your HDD.

EDIT: I said "MAIN" instance meaning their would be other minor instances that you would be placed in if the main instance were full to avoid overcrowding.

i would suggest adding more options to the poll

they have enough lag in cyrodiil as it is though, making that gamewide woudl kill the game, lets not forget that making the zones cross faction would not only triple the lag, but it would make getting anything done overworld impossible, the population count for each zone would be insane, killing a dungeon boss would have huge lines, world bosses too, harvest nodes would be a complete rarity

its a nightmare waiting to happen

    Neither of these.

PvE could have been more open but there is a need for things to be split. Imagine everyone trying to do and share all the same zones.

Areas like mournhold would be a crash fest (it already is sometimes). Imagine 3 zones of people stacked in one spot spamming AoEs... Game would self destruct.

I'm not one of those spammers but they are in the same spot 24/7, it'd be inevitable.

Have you ever been to the veteran areas of your alliance? they are practically ghost towns other then maybe 1 or 2 people that's about it.

Some MMOs have multiple "layers", just like Cyrodiil campaign. You can still meet people of other alliances, but when 1 "layer" is near to full, people come later will be automatically put into the next layer. You can still travel to your friends by travel to their layer. It help reduce the lag, but still allow people from different alliance to meet each other. I believe I've seen this kind of layer in ESO earlier, but idk why I haven't seen it lately, except some quests process gate layers.
PS: also... I clickedthe wrong vote option

Totally Yes! It adds to immersion immensely and more options for designing content, more life above all; maybe there might be more tensions, but that again would add to immersion and to more feeling of belonging to a certain faction (patriotism if you want). The lack of a more limited combat system (built-system; we have "play as you like system") already destroys immersion and affiliation and combat balance/management , imo

Would I like to play with other players. sure. I think there should be like a 4th server for multi-faction groups only. that way they can be on a seperate instance. But to jam everything together would create lag, Node scarcity, and probably cause cyrodil type of issues all over.

The game needs instances, but being able to group with friends and run together in PvE despite their being in another alliance would have been nice.

If you were on separate instances at the time of grouping, the game could allow you to teleport to another group member at their nearest wayshrine just like when you join a party with someone in your own alliance currently.

In my opinion, cross-alliance grouping with guildmates is still far too limited at present. Separate instances that are not based on alliance would deal with issues like node scarcity or lag.

Maybe I do not get the point of this. But, as far as i understand, there would not be a need to choose a fraction in the first place if this change was implemented. Right?
This way you could play with your friends from other alliances and choosing an alliance would only determine where you start the game and who you fight for in Cyrodiil,...

Hmm, you might have noticed that NPCs in quests always have the same monologues. However, the atmosphere created when playing through quests is not only determined by what is said, but also by when and sometimes by whom its said. The very same words trigger different "feelings" depending on the content/storyline played before. This is a vital mechanism of RP. This is the fundament for ADs loving their queen and EPs as well as Covenants want to fight for their king.

I might be wrong, but cutting down on fundamental choices changes the way TESO is experienced (for those who like to immerse in the game) leaving the remaining choices to be non-emotional and thereby imho purely cosmetic. (i.e. without any meaning/depth)

...any levelling issues could be solved with optional battlescaling,...

Why do you need battlescaling, if you can bring x friends to help?
What about those ppl that like and actively look for a challenge?
Do you mean optional as in "solo"/"on level"(whoose level if a group?)/"above level"(how much?)/"below level"?
    ... ?
Really, I do not get the logic of this. Please elaborate.

...also the game would feel much more alive and less of a ghost town and it would be easier to find groups and people to play alongside with, it may have also taken up less space on your HDD.

I disagree strongly with the notion that "alive" = "many ppl in one place", but well, imho...
Disc space is a lol "argument", right?

Well, I am sry i wasn't able to vote... I hope you do understand my reasoning tho.

I think it's more complicated than that. Consider the dev team, I think they banked on making a good rvr daoc style game. Cyrodil didn't work out as they hoped due to lag while the player base became increasingly interested in pve, so they shifted resources to what the players were more into.

If they could remake the game now, I think they'd be better off with either 1 instance or more resources into making pvp more interesting and involved, but it's good to see they can change gears to make the best game with what they have available and listen to the players.

Actually, since I don't think the dialog changed regardless of whether you run a quest based on being DC vs being AD doing Cadwell's Gold, this comment doesn't seem based in any facts with how the game currently stands.

With Cadwells and faction swapping in Cyrodiil there is absolutely no reason (so far) for splitting the factions.

They should just let you pick where to level for your first 5 zones by picking the DC, EP, or AD areas.

Remove Cadwells so we can level an alt with some replayability value in a different starting area.

Make Cyrodiil a choice on which faction to fight for. Making it locked to account is the obvious choice, but maybe as a comprise to the open factions, give those who feel the need to switch allegiance an option to do so every 90 days or so. (Should be a meaningful amount of time)

I don't like the way you phrased your "No" option. Anyway....

In an Elder Scrolls game, I don't really want some Orc in a dress running around killing stuff immediately. If chance has it that I find myself doing PvE content in a typical Elder Scrolls fashion, the less players the better. Personally, emptyish Vet zones are nice because they have minimal players.

Lots of harvest nodes, few dark anchors or bosses are killed, mobs are all alive without some massive group of piled, dead Dreugh from players grinding, etc.

If you want to play with players from another faction, use a different character or simply group up as usual. Lol.

they could make bosses not respawn for players who have already killed them, any other player near them would see them and could fight then but you wouldn't beable to see them nor attack them and vice versa.
