I have accidently robbed a merchant on the road

I have the intimidate skill, I accidently pressed that option and robbed him.
Will he permanently hates me or will he forget about this has ever happened?

✭✭✭✭✭Unless he's different from every other NPC like that in the game, he'll despawn after a while and get replaced. So don't worry.

✭✭This is a scripted event for an achievement, along the lines of the 'I Like M'aiq". There are spots in every zone where there is a random chance for one of three scripts to appear. You encountered the "Crime Pays" version. The other two are "Give to the Poor", in which you can give gold to a begger, and "Lightbringer", in which you help two idiots light a fire. You get each achievement when you complete each encounter in every original zone. There are some old threads on the forum that give locations and describe the rules for encountering the events (yes, there are rules). If you are on PC, there is a handy add-on for tracking progress, but I can't remember the name.Tracked it down, it's called Kindler Beggar Liar Thief
Crime Pays was always my favorite. You can use the merchant to sell your junk, and then rob him to get the achievement. If you rob him first, you can't sell to him. He drops a backpack when you use the intimidate option, and you have to loot it to get anything. The backpack frequently has good loot. Saoirse_Siobhan✭✭✭✭✭Sometimes he will respawn in those achievement areas (in the same zone as before, 'cus every zone has a different merchant you can steal from), and if you talk to him, he will say something along the lines of "Oh not YOU again!" . He'll still sell you stuff though, and you have the choice to rob him again LOL .PC/EU DC2 -

Had that happen a few times.Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.

I would like an achievement for clearing out the summoners, caravans being attacked, and idiot victims touting for bandits, too. I still stop for some of those, since there's an XP award even if the kills aren't worth it.
