Stealing makes okay money but as you're capped at max of selling 140 items per day you're still more likely to make better gold farming materials/items players want and selling them via a guild store. To make the most out of selling stolen materials focus on selling Blue/Purple items and then greens. Just trash any white stolen items.

Best places to steal are any cities really, look for the ones with large open markets, warehouses or lots of townsfolk houses.

If you're looking to just level the skill line then easiest way is to find somewhere with a lot of livestock with and okay spawn timer and kill it all. Just sell/launder the guts up to your daily limit every day as you gain Legerdemain XP per item sold/laundered not based on value.

Not really, there are much better ways to make money by that stage. Stealing is best in the early game.

There are. Farm mobs is 1, but it also ruin my wrists and fingers. Farm Craglorn nodes is another. But when I'm waiting in the main city for pledges, pick pocketing around still give good money in very short time.
