This has been a hot topic on the PTS forums with the changes to dragonknight stamina morphs: which now look like acid/poison attacks rather than flame attacks. Several players are against the changes, on the basis that they rolled that class/character to use fire, and now that's being taken away from them. While I can see their point, I'm in the opposite crowd: I think that all classes should have more visual disparity between builds, however I do agree that the way the developers went about it with dragonknights is probably not the best method.
If it were up to me, I'd make similar changes to all class abilities with stamina morphs, as well as to abilities which are obviously intended to be used by stamina builds rather than magicka builds. Here's a list, and what I'd like to see done:
Dragonknights: Stamina theme: Earth/stone (Physical damage)
Searing Strike (Unstable Flames) -> Stone Claw: Strikes at the enemy with a dragon's claw formed of rock and stone
Fiery Breath (Burning Breath) -> Noxious Breath: Spew a cloud of toxic ash at enemies in a cone in front of you
Dragon Blood (Green Dragon Blood) - Change the silhouette to a green effect, rather than the same black silhouette used by the other morph
Stone Fist (Stone Giant) - Change this to a melee range stamina-based ability, you form a boulder around your fist and slam it into the target.
Sorcerors: Stamina theme: Wind/force (physical damage)
Summon Storm Atronach (Greater Storm Atronach) -> Wind Atronach - deals physical damage
Crystal Shard (Crystal Blast) -> Crystal Fist - Change this to a melee range stamina-based ability, you form the crystal shard around your hand and punch the target
Overload (Power Overload) - Change to physical damage dealt, with wind/force blast visual effects rather than lightning
Lightning form (thundering presence) -> Hurricane - Same changes as on PTS, deals physical damage, but give it a non-lightning wind visual effect
Templars: Stamina Theme: Physical Weapons (physical damage)
Simple change here: All stamina-based aedric spear abilities conjure a more physical/solid looking spear, rather than a glowing light spear, when used.
Nightblades: Stamina Theme: Dro'mathra (disease damage)
Death stroke (incapacitating strike), Assassin's Blade (killer's blade), Teleport Strike (Ambush), Grim Focus (relentless Focus), veiled strike (surprise attack), Drain power (power extraction) -
Change all of these abilities' visual effects to a blue glow/blue tint, similar to what we see with dro'mathra effects, while leaving the magicka-focused abilities the current red-tint/glow they all have.
What are your opinions on having changes like these implemented in order to visually seperate stamina and magicka builds?
