Kind of Lost...

So been away from the game for a while, probably around a year maybe? The last thing I remember is when pickpocketing was introduced and the crown store was new. Trying to catch up with patch notes, but ZOS puts out a ton (not complaining, love patch notes).

I logged in, read some soul-shriveled motif, and now I am VR15. What to do next? I went to Orsinium, I guess quest there? There is another new land too, something about the Thieves guild?

Any directional help is appreciated

Veteran dungeons are always a challenge, as well as great end-game PVE content. Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but I believe every dungeon has two modes: normal and veteran. Veteran dungeons can be tricky and require a lot of cooperation between players, as well as well-invested champion points, well-defined roles, etc. So that's a great option. You can also start doing more PVP and optimizing your character for it, finding out what gear works best for you, how to spend your champion points, etc. PVP is my main end-game motivation, personally.

If you have the Thieves Guild DLC, you can travel to Hew's Bane. It's a PVE area, such as Wrothgar, with tons of fun stuff.

As Firmus said it depends on what you would like to get out of the game. I take frequent game breaks for weeks/months at a time because of work... so I find that the DLC areas like Hew's Bane and Wrothgar are an excellent way to get started reacquainting myself with my characters and with the game by questing through some fresh content. Since the monsters and quests scale to your characters it makes for good general practice.

Plus the content is very nice :) I know it has its ups and downs for people but I've even enjoyed just walking through those areas. But hey, I'm also just that kinda gamer. I understand that isn't exciting for everyone.
