Twilight Matriarch healing?

paulmapp8306
Does the healing from the Matriarch happen automatically when your health gets low, or do you have to toggle it like you do for the clanfears heal?

Its a heal just like BoL but better. Sorc healing will be a thing once DB drops and wards are nerfed. Sorc dps/healer hybrid will become the only legit hybrid in the game post DB imo.

Dont know what BoL is lol. Only been playing a couple of weeks. Closest I can find is Blessing of Protection, or Blessing or Restoration. Both explain the Bo - neither explain the L. Im sure Im just not looking in the right places.

At present, Im learning all the various "ways" of doing things. No point in having this and expecting my pet to heal when I need (in the time frames of course) if I actually have to toggle it. In the heat of battle Im not watching my health bar for auto regeneration at present (dont have the time yet) - just for when I need potions.

If its auto heal great - if I have to activate it I need to know that (presumably if I do, its the same button that activates the twilight).

First press brings up the Twilight, second press triggers the heal. So yes you have to action it, but arguably in the same way you action a heal potion. Thus freeing the Potion slot for something else, depending on how you look at it.

To keep up to speed with the changes, take a mo to plough through the most recent patch notes for your OS. As appt of other Interweb resources are out of doubt for the latest changes I find.

By the way, BoL is breath of life, the mainstay heal for a templar.

Its not automatic and thats good, sorc can be decent healer now and can find his place in both PvE and PvP groups. If u want to some auto defense or smth like that check crafted sets e.g. Whitestrake which enables shield when your health drops below 30%.

I'm done with this game because of ZOS pushing us into Vengeance, because they don't know how to fix Cyrodiil.

Although I love to use the twilight for dungeons I would never take it into PvP with me, it's too unreliable there, if you need a heal and your twilights dead, then you're dead too. Healing ward is a better option for PvP IMO.

Just read up on Templars skill lines. I think I need to develop a new characture.....

It has the mix of attack and healing on both the characture and allies that I like. Id miss my pets though....

When playing oblivion/Skyrim I tended top split my spells and skills between pets, healing spells and attack spells.

Will probably suck actually. The Ward nerf is a HUGE hit for sorc healers using Twilight. Her health is barely 10k, meaning any half-decent direct attack oneshots her. I usually try to keep Ward on her full time in case something gets loose and hits her, with 20 second duration it's not too hard and ads an element of challenge and having to pay attention in an exchange for BoL-like heal. However with 6 second duration...yeah...I don't think so.

To OP, as been said, Matriarch heal works exactly the same way as that of Clannie, and if I were you I'd go templar for heals. They don't have to depend on a squishy pet for heals and have much more utility for group player and reliable selfheals for solo play.

Sorc healers are better off using the other morph though, that lasts 8seconds instead of 6, and also grants 10% Magicka recovery to yourself and allies.

I'm sure it said in the patch notes too that they were raising the health of pets by like 5k ?

Im really trying to create a solo character, hence the clanfare for a tank - but as such I need some way of healing myself if I get hits (other than spamming potions). At the same time I need some decent DPS to take enemies out. Cant rely on pets to do this on their own.

Have you tried this in test? Even with more health and a shield, the pets are still hella stupid. She's just going to stand in all the red circles she can find and die repeatedly, at the points in fights when you need heals.

Why would I need to test it? For solo hardened ward is better for group play empowered ward is better as a healer, you're there to heal and offer support? Giving everyone extra Magicka Regen is good support, and sorcs don't really get to offer much else in that role.

And don't doubt pets, take a look at @Thelon pet build thread.

Sorry, I thought you were OP. Not challenging which ward to use, just the idea of relying on the pet for group heals. And yep, I'm aware that you can painstakingly solo some of the dungeons using pets.

With the recent changes to dmg shields I would consider leveling a magicka Templar for solo content (Altmer, Breton or Dunmer).

Templars now have roughly the same shield as sorcs with the light armor skill Annulment. And with the 6 second duration its not effective using them both.

Templars have the benefit of healing while dealing dmg with Puncturing Sweep and strong instant healing with BoL (breath of life).

In comparison, sorcs no longer heal based on dmg because Surge morphs have been changed. And the Twilight can only heal if its alive.

Another benefit of Templars is that you can switch between dps, healer and tank (for 4-man dungeons) just by changing gear and skills.

Sorcs could do this as well but Im not sure how good tanking will work after the changes to the dmg shields.

Painstakingly? Nope, with more ease than any other class. And with more variety.

My pet build solos vet dungeons too and looks nothing like Thelon's.

Take a look at my PvP pet build and the videos (more coming, like the 1v3 etc...)

    People under estimate pets.

In massive PvP, sure matriarch isn't super useful, but you also have other playerz (and healz) and in 1vX she is great. Especially if an opponent decides to attack a pet and not you (gg you win if they focus on the pets)

Thelon's build is great for a poor man build (almost all crafted items) and mine is just way unique.

5K more health is very much welcome, though not necessary.

    Check it out :)

In all honesty I'd advise resto staff for yourself for solo play. You'll have to slot resto for this, but you won't have to sacrifice slots on both bars and you won't have to wonder whether or not your pet is up to give you a heal. That's if you do go sorc.
If you go templar(which I'd advise for solo or group play really, especially considering DB changes), just Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep. If stuff doesn't die, sweep moar. If you die, sweep faster.
