Interested in the vampire changes I came to the forums and found a couple of polls which basically made it sound like the vamp updates would suck, (pun intended). After looking at the actual facts however, it seems that DB vamps will be the best yet and here is why.
Stage 1: Vampirism is 100% Aesthetic.
You can now run "City of Ash" without being scared of the fireballs. You gain no benefits or debuffs in stage 1. Health recovers at regular speed, 0% extra damage taken from fire, but, all passives are inactive. Great for the RP community or anyone who fancies a break from all the side effects.
Stage 2: Supernatural Recovery
Supernatural Recovery + Unnatural Resistance are active 100% of the time while in stages 2 through 4 (without the need for a slotted vamp ability). Stage 2 also grants a 7% reduction to vampire abilities, a 15% weakness to fire and a 25% reduction to health recovery (0% reduction with Unnatural Resistance). No other passives are active at stage 2. In stage 2 it is possible to achieve 25% health recovery + 10% resistance to fire through champion points while maintaining a 10% increase in magicka and stam recovery. Overall a good stage for anyone using both Magicka + Stamina abilities (i.e. Stamina Nightblade + Mass Hysteria/Shadow Cloak)
Stage 3: Undeath
Undeath is now active alongside previous passives reducing damage you take while under 50% health by up to 33%. However, Fire resistance is reduced by 20% and 50% reduction to Health recovery (25% with Unnatural Resistance). Vampire abilities now cost 14% less. Still possible to attain a 5% fire resistance and have no impact on base health recovery with champion points.
Stage 4: Dark Stalker
Dark Stalker is now active alongside previous passives. (increased movement speed while sneaking) and a 21% reduction to cost for vamp abilities. Cons are a 25% weakness to fire and a 75% reduction in health recovery (50% with Unnatural Resistance). Possible to reach 0% weakness to fire and 25% reduction to health with Champion points.
Extras
Stages now last 6 hours instead of 30 minutes.
Every time a vampire ability is activated, 30 minutes are deducted from the timer. (spamming any vamp active 12 times will take you up 1 stage. 12 x 30 mins = 6 hours.)
As stated above, sneak speed is only active in stage 4.
Overall, I think these are good changes as it gives people a reason to play in different stages of vampirism rather than everyone being in stage 4 because the conditions are almost the same at all stages in the current patch. I am interested to know what everyone else thinks of these changes though.
