Why is stamina dk getting buffed next patch

I have a stam sorc, leveling them is painful but are fun later game. Agreed, they definitely need some love.

You reckon? I though levelling stam sorc was a breeze, crit surge up n spin t win.

I'm personally super excited about an extra character slot to create a Stam Khajiit dk next patch. I'm going to be talking in PVE terms here so bear with me.

The Stam dk in PVE is incredible BUT, every class has it's weakness.

For the Stam dk, range is a major issue. Try doing your normal rotation on Engine Guardian for example... Your dps will be rubbish because you are stuck with the bow, on a very mobile enemy. No build is ever perfect... Well except magblades of course.

I'm stuck as an Aussie on the Xbox Eu server without a godly guild as Hodor, with pugs that struggle with dps on Banished Cells. Believe me, in those situations, dps IS important. It's very, quick, kill the boss before all your other team mates die again.

That's the direct one, but it also makes Poison Injection for example stronger when used by a DK. Then Rapid Strikes has been the go to for DKs for awhile so they benefit the most from it's buff.

I wouldn't consider those stamina DK buffs, the changes are for magic based skills so we would need to reroll and level them. Rapid Strikes isn't a DK move.

They're nerfing wrecking blow and executioner which will pretty much kill my stam DK build.

I melee Fire and poison phase, kill adds on lightning phase. No range needed.

i couldnt help bu chuckle. Mag builds have some pretty solid burst if you decide to go desto over DW. ofcourse you wont have great burst using DW. Mag builds are still very strong. Stam is also very stroong. The changes were well needed. What, stam players cant get ults that scale. Stam players cant get their stamina morphs to actually scale off of mighty?? only mag is allowed that. STam builds were brought up to par with others. Additionally, everyone can pul a VD proxy combo with dawnbreaker. you dont need soul tether. IN fact, on my mag nb I prefer dawnbreaker because it is more sustained damage than soul tether because of ult cost. Additionally, proxy was nerfed. (rightly so).

Sure people will run more stam at first because of changes and people not getting on pts to test so they do it on live. But then everyone goes back to what they like. Like the VD bombs. was every where the first month. Now less and less run it. This is the most balanced patch we have seen since 1.5

Nothing in that skill line is. But using light and heavy attacks from the dsto and weaving it with class abilities packs a strong burst. A burst that is not possible when people go for raw damage of dw over the burst of desto. Additionally, Temps merely need to get a player to below 50% health and have high burst with radiant.

A Burst is BRIEF period with high intensity, as in taking someone from 25k health to 0 in 2-3 seconds, anything longer gives the target plenty of time to negate the incoming damage by putting up shields, healing, dodge-rolling, cloaking or putting on shuffle. MagTemp class abilities that do high damage are channels (Sweeps, Dark Flare) and can't be animation cancelled thus you're not going to do a lot of extra damage using weaving attacks. And while the Radiant tooltip says 50% is the threshold for increased damage it doesn't just automatically scale up to full strength at that point. Between 50-20% health the damage bonus is pretty small, Radiant only really hits hard enough to count as good burst on those below 20%. Above that percent you're looking at it hitting for maybe 4k per second if it crits. So if someone is at 50% health and you use a three second, interruptible channel that crits on every tick you might do 12k damage, if 1) you don't lose LOS and 2) no one bashes or stuns you while channeling. Even when I get players down below 20% there is an almost full second hitch where the Temp draws back their hand then thrusts it forward before the"instant" cast does any damage and that gives any good player time to get back above the 20% mark.

i know it does scale up fully. But since we are talking about burst capabilities we are talking about high dps. A high dps build is still going to get a very strong first tick. Additionally, templars have other various type of burst combos. although not like other burst combos (which is a good thing because it is dumb to make all classes do the same thing), they are viable nonetheless. for instance, flare, la/spear weave, raditant for distance plus can throw in a meteor for good measure. can gap close, stun jabs, radiant. Here you can throw in a dawnbreaker for good measure. the burst combos are htere and perfectly viable. just because the combos do not operate in the same manner as say a nb does not mean that they are not viable combos. Ofcourse you can also throw det into the mix. although nerfed in 1v1 situations, stil a nice burst to top off your damage with well time combos.
