Considering returning after long break, What do I need to know?

My wife and I are considering returning. Neither of us were max level. It has been since early last year I think since we played. We play on XBox One.

1) Are there any major changes we need to be aware of?

2) I do not recall, if there is a season pass type option or how many DLC we need to buy now either...

3) Also saw a post about Console players being ready to show character names. Is there a link with more info on this?

4) Are dungeons easier to queue for as a group of 2?

5) Are Guilds any different? We have one of all our alts, but use it for storage sharing between our two accounts.

6) Any MUST do or have suggestions?

Maybe there is even a link for returning players to catch up on details that someone as posted?

The have patch notes you can review from the date you were last on. Also, a quick forum search on any of your questions will give you the answers you seek.

Been reading through them. Not fun looking in each for mention of grouping and dungeons, and the console character name issue thing. Any details on those specifically?

Consoles used to display only the ID *psn username or xbone live or wahtever. They will now display that, and the character name on top of it.

It helps if you're both dps, then the group finder in-game would only need a healer and tank, and if you're healer and tank, teh finder would just throw in 2 random dps. if you're a dps and healer or dps and tank it might be tricky but it still works better than it ever used to.

buy the sub to try the dlc, rush all of it in like 3 days. freeze teh sub to when db hits. repeat that, and do it again every new dlc.

I'd link you to the patch notes section, or just this. but then again, you can just watch some angry streamer's rant video, he'll probably tell you all you need/want/possibly can hear.

Your best bet is to be hlr and tank, you can't zone into gratwood without your chat box being spamming with dps lf pledge groups, at least on PC.

As far as the dungeon finder, I have been in groups where a dps left in dungeon, and the auto finder would take 20 minutes to find another, when we all know there are probably 100+ sitting around waiting in the finder already.

As far as character name thing, that is going to be what it is going to be, it won't effect game play at all, so I am not sure the concern.

@Lenikus Thank you for all the info. Appreciated.

I also found this link which has good details for me as well, sort of summarized etc: https://www.reddit.com/r/elderscrollsonline/wiki/returning

Now to figure out how XB1 Game Sharing does or does not work with ESO+.

Any of you have 1st hand experience with Game Sharing and ESO+? We use it for TCTD and it works great, all DLC etc is available to both accounts. Though with ESO, your game account is tied to the site sort of. Not sure if this will prevent the ESO+ from being available to both accounts (crowns and dlc etc not just dlc)

@Lenikus Looking at the changes in DB, would it almost be better to wait for it to release before coming back since I would have to reset all my skills most likely, and re-learn them only to have to most likely make changes again after DB is out.

    Thoughts?

Honestly id say your best bet is giving it another shot and see how you like it. A lot changes in a year and depending on your character builds and playstyle its going to be rough and possibly misleading to research your way back in. Dark brotherhood is coming soon bringing more changes, but if you already own the game you no longer need a subscription to play.
