Perhaps a Way to Prevent Gate-Camping After Scrolls are Taken

I know in different campaigns that the reigning factions like to gate-camp the other 2. I suggest that gates close after the scroll is secured by another faction. I'm not saying this is the best idea, but it could prevent reigning factions from forcing the others to their home bases and kill the spirit of pvp.

    I think thats where capturable hubs in cyrodiil should come in to play.
    By holding on to these hubs, you get soldier production or whatever.

    But then again more calculations = more lag so ya scrap that..

    I don't really see the point. The fights would be at the scroll gates then, farther away from the spawnpoint (unless you keep up a camp) and not provide defense ticks anymore. I don't think "gate camping" would be such a negative thing if it didn't imply the camped faction has little hope to recover keeps, not because of the location but because of a disadvantage in numbers and/or organization. And closing the gate would change exactly nothing about that.

    It may not be the best idea, but such incidents do need to resolved, esp. gate-pushing. I know fights at scrolls get good ap. It's fun to get so much.

    What makes it harder to push out is the gate campers usually have all the buffs including emperor at that point.
    Maybe some sort of underdog buff beefed up till gate keeps are recaptured would work.
    I can't tell you how many times we have had to deal with a gate camping emperor.

    Once the scroll is picked up from the pedestal, the attacking force has 10 minutes to be out of the gate area before the back keep (BM, BB, Warden, Rayles, Farragut, or Kings) reverts to its home color, shutting the gate and preventing anyone else from entering from that point forward. As long as the acroll is no longer docked in that temple, the keep becomes unsiegeable, serving only as a spawn point.

    Would solve a great deal of issues, to be honest.

    These issues include:

    - Gate camping an entire faction to their back spawns, which are behind ridiculously nasty chokes, especially when the attacking force has immediate respawn right there as well, and likely has every buff available, making recovery that much harder.

    - Scroll trolling/farming pugs with an actively carried scroll still in the temple area, for free easy respawn kills.

    - Monocoloration of the map, which discourages PvP

    - Minimizing the impact of lingering gankers behind the gate killing brand new players to the game still doing tutorial, first skyhards, etc. This isnt as much of as issue as it was 2 years ago, but it still exists.

    - A place for the defending faction to actually have access to guild banks/vendors without leaving cyro.

    It's time we just accept gate camping occurs. Deal with it. DC has been gate camped and although it is frustrating and demoralizing and humiliating as hell, it never lasts forever. Eventually the tide turns and either the enemy gets pushed back enough or they get bored. Some factions deserve it being done and bring it on themselves. Like when you have a nonstop poplock and paint a map one color arrogantly...yeah someone is gonna come along one day and push your booty to the gates. Take your medicine and move on. Do we really need endless forum posts about this?

    If you quit pvp because you were gate camped for a couple hours, you have bigger issues than being gate camped.

    This has happened to all of us at some point . I think it's both like kicking an injured person and sometimes an angry mob tactic in retaliation to a prior incident . No one like it when it's done to them so in the spirit of competitive PvP I don't participate . It just leads to getting labeled as a jerk and I came to this game for enjoyment not negativity .
