Was excited to hear today about this new feature coming with the Dark Brotherhood DLC.
Once your bounty gets high enough, it is basically permanent (20-30 million or so). At this point, it's challenging to do many quests, because invincible guards are often standing next to the quest givers, and some quests in interior locations seem perhaps impossible to begin.
It sounds like this disguise will make it possible to finally do all these quests. Been particularly wanting to do the quest to unlock crafting writs for some time, but previously every time I tried, I would get immediately rekt by the three guards standing next to the quest giver inside Davon's Watch mages guild

When you die, the guards take the value of your bounty from your character's inventory (not from the bank). If your character doesn't have enough gold to cover it, they will still have a bounty when they ress.Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.1 -

Not sure if trolling, but it doesn't wipe your bounty unless you die with gold equal to the bounty accrued1 -
