Elemental Succession - NOT affected by Champion Points?

Hi, as per title, I read on FextraLife that the set is not affected by CP's is that correct?

If so is there a logic to that for other sets too? I e what other sets aren't?

It is not effected by CP cause its a situational - edit im guessing here, buff, not additional damage

Compare it to how Blunt and Blade is worded, "increases the damage of..." to "...Spell Damage..."

Capital S (spell) Capital D (damage) is the game mechanic calculation term in eso

So the calculation takes place after base im sure, I seriously doubt an armor set would insert its equation in the middle of a base equation.

Sorry for my earlier post, some of these respodents (here at work lol) are just jerks and make me upset.

Just guessing, but I think the calculation would be base damage + CPs (other "constant" modifiers) Then "situational" modifiers.

After messing with Daedric Prey I'm sure the game has a "memory" and it's limited. It's all guess work, but It appears to me as if there is a "move limit" before it "forgets" the previous calculations, in order to circumvent that the game may just take out come numbers and move into the next equation, rather than adding equation to equation.

Why I say that is: with Daedric Prey, if you cast it and allow for full animation of moves, everything works fine. If you are in an intense combat, animation cancel, and get x3 the amount of moves in, the Prey is cancelled.

Im trying to remember a long time ago post thag showed exactly how modifiers worked in the game (in this particular case it was cost reduction, in that post the forum goer showed how because the equations took totals and inserted them into a new equation, you received diminishing returns.)

Seriously its all guess work though

Why would succession be effected by CPs?

Succession gives you a spell damage boost. There is no CPs that modify buffs.

If it did damage, depending on how and what kind, then it may be effected.

R you sure ur talking about the right armor set?

I think they mean the 5 piece ability that adds damage to a single element then rotates between the elements. You would think Elemental Expert CP would effect it, since, doesn't it effect the damage on vicious death?

Vicious Death specifies "Flame Damage"as elemental expert effects all elements it boosts Vicious Death

On the flip side Trinimac says, "brings down a shard of Trinimac" in that it doesn't say magic or elemental it isn't effected by CP

Since Elemental Succession does not grant a general spell damage bonus, the damage added by it may very well be calculated without Elemental Expert CP. But that's just my guess, didn't test it and can't now.

@ToRelax I would assume that it is very likely to be affected by elemental expert ( since the additional spell damage should be added to the base damage calculation of the spell. Then the CP buffs would get applied.)

However it might be possible that the bonus from succession is not affected by the general % spell dmg buffs ( sorcery), because it is so specific.

@Ahzek well that's what I would think, too, except that wiki does indeed make the statement mentioned in the OP. But, aren't you a PvEer running VMSA day and night, I'm sure you could test it? :>

Thanks for the comments guys, seems I've asked an interesting question. Be great to know the answer for sure!!

I guess easiest example would be crushing shock, as it 'Should' always getting both Ele Expert bonus AND the Ele Succession bonus u would have thought.
