EU Server location/ping

Where are the EU servers located ? Sure it can't be in Europe ..... Im getting between 120ms-147ms from England.
On EVERY single game I play that has EU servers i never see above 42ms.

This ping is a joke ... I might aswell be playing on a NA server, saying that I have less ping than 147ms on NA servers. Fix something, it's unplayable at 147ms.

And I think you compare latency, not ping. What the ingame tool shows, is latency, response time of the game server in game terms, while ping is a separate internet service, which measures game independent time of server response.

Latency depends heavily on actual server load, while ping is just network related.

Okay, well. Either way the 147ms im sat on currently is extremely laggy and makes moving around attacks and preforming attacks a chore.

I just checked several different games to see if it was on my end and ESO is the only game performing like this. I even went through the entire forum for work-arounds. To no avail.

You compare apple with oranges, like I explained ping is not latency. Most games show ping times, not latency. You can experience lag with very good ping values, because ping does not take the actual server load into account.

Right so .... Why is this so laggy/delayed and nothing else is ... It's not just today but for the entirety of this week.
Im not sure i asked for an education on which on is which, more why is this the only game i load up that is so bloody delayed.

Is there something that can be done or do i move on / This game used to run like silk when i last played. it now runs like a hippo through mud.

There is nothing what you can do. If the server is busy, latency values increase, because it takes longer to perform the requests. The network can at the same time be absolutely fine and responsive, but the game server itself is not, because there are so many requests incoming. And especially in mass battles this is absolutely normal, not much that can be done.

Wow. I live in Poland and never has an MMO with servers in Germany given me latency higher than 42ms. ESO's normal latency however is anywhere from 72 to 160ms. With spikes up to 400.
P2P offered you 'hell yeah!' moments. F2P offers you 'thank god its over' moments.

Again, what most games show you is ping time, ping is the time for the network - while latency is time for the network PLUS the server activity. So latency is dependent on the actual server load and not just the network performance and is always higher than ping and it tends as well to swing up and down a lot more.

Have devs stated which one ESO displays? Have the devs of other MMOs? Also, it doesnt really matter which one is displayed as you can actually feel and see the difference in delay between key press and action. And I can tell you, Ive played a LOT of MMOs which were more responsive than ESO.
