Non-player based "auction" house for rare or speciality items

Add a house with a merchant that every 3 hours lists 5-10 items at random and let people place silent bids on items if you win you get the item through the mail if you loose you get a full refund. The items listed are typically DLC or dungeon bind on pickup items and come in random qualities and traits. what do you guys think?

The OP really should have titled his thread something else if he actually wanted people to read the post.

This has nothing to do with an auction house as previously discussed.

I think a bid-based NPC "Weapon-trader" sounds like a nifty idea! It reminds me of an idea I had recently where there would be weapon-traders that allowed players to trade in bind-on-pickup gear to a trader to obtain different bind-on-pickup gear. There wouldn't be a specific value to the gear but it would be based on a sort of rarity index that values the item by how many of them exist in-game. By trading the item in, it would remove it from the game and kind of keep everything balanced. When you make offers to the merchant, he or she would either take your deal, or turn you down so there would be no way of knowing if you "had enough" for them until you tried the offer.

The inventory would rotate regularly... perhaps even daily.

This idea expanded to include bidding would be pretty neat. It could even be expanded even further so that players could bid

Gold
Telvar Stones
Alliance Points
Other Bind-on-pickup Gear

Let players offer up any combination of any number of these four things to try to get some of the rarer things in the game without running content.

Of course, winning with JUST gold would probably be almost impossible because the "value" of each of these items would likely depend upon the rarity index and gold is pretty far from being rare... at all.

Oh and you should change your title to something like "NPC Run Auction House".

And yes... I had my Auction Horse picture ready for posting.

Oh, and the items won from these auctions would more than likely be bound to the buyer. If I get the mechanics of the suggestion right. @RAGUNAnoOne , input?
