Crafting Achievment Titles/Business Card

Maybe this already exists and I just haven't seen it, but I think it would be cool if there were different character titles (like Master Wizard when you complete the Mage's Guild quest line, or Volunteer in Cyrodiil) that a player could place on their character that would basically advertise a crafter's service. If a player has a particular crafting title, another player would know they could approach them and barter for crafting.

Another idea would be to have town bulletin boards, like the crafting writ boards, where a crafter and/or players could post crafting services or items wanted.

Seems like better immersion than just yelling in zone chat.

Good idea, bad idea, not needed, pain in the ass?

The title concept, while unique, would ultimately be really complicated in practice. What defines a 'Master Blacksmith' ? People have very different concepts of it. Is it someone who's lvl 50 in Blacksmithing? Someone who knows all the motifs? Someone who can craft 6 trait sets? 7? 8? 9? Someone with all traits and motifs researched?

Let's say we set the bar absurdly high. Must have all traits and motifs and be lvl 50. What happens when you release a new motif or trait in a future patch? The old masters are no longer masters. Do we take away their titles, which they had earned at the time? Do we add a new Master Master Blacksmith title? Truly Master Blacksmith? Truly Superb Awesomely Impressive Master Blacksmith? Too much work to add the system which would still leave people having to explain their skillset in chat as they do currently. Not to mention the potential to seriously dissuade apprentice smiths from pursuing the craft as quickly they would not be able to find anyone interested in their work. "Looking for crafter. Only Truly Superb Awesomely Impressive Master Blacksmiths need apply"

Your second idea has more merit. I like the idea of a hub for accepting and posting crafting requests. It could be a simple bulletin board or even a building with multiple boards and an NPC (crafting guild member) to process new contracts. Probably too much work to implement from a developer standpoint, but an interesting idea in any case.

The title could work like the Emperor system. For example, ZOS releases more motifs, they could reset the Master Crafting Titles to "Former Master" Crafting titles.

Perhaps we need to break the Master Hats down a bit. Master Blacksmith has hit lvl 50 in the profession. X Trait Blacksmith has learned all traits for Blacksmith up to X Traits. Master Motif Blacksmith has learned all the currently available Motifs.

This doesn't really solve the additional release issue, but in conjunction with the "Former" title change upon new content release it might go a long ways.
