This has probably already occurred to quite a few people, but for those that haven't thought of it, I would start putting entire stacks of V16 mats to one side to start the HUGE crafting demand there will be come DB release. There is going to be a LOT of people who will go from low vet to max rank over night on multiple chars, and anyone with maxed crafting skills and knowledge is going to be in high demand.

It would be a good idea now to start concentrating on your crafting skills, and work them as high as possible, get as many motifs learnt as you can, and make some bank space available prior to DB release so you can store and save all the materials you are likely to need come release day.

Remember, doing this is going to require a decent pool of skill points, so skyshard hunting can only benefit you right now. Also consider raising PvP ranks for extra skill points, get any major storyline/harborage/mages guild/fighters guild quests done for the skill points they reward. It is around 21 Skill points per crafting tree to max it out.

If you can achieve this, you may even be able to consider making yourself "for hire" come DB release day, and could probably make a decent pile of gold charging people for building armor and weapons.

    Also, with the release of the crafting bags I expect the price of mats in the guild stores to skyrocket. After all, with infinite storage there is no need to sell them to clear out inventory slots.

    That has been my plan since before TG where i thought the vr cp tango was happening.

    Course, now they say i can buy new char slots so my math has changed.

    Crafting tables are gonna be as crowded as cake bosses on piers, esp for say hundings and julianos and likely it will look like a freakin' invasion at the No shira citadel.

    We’re definitely listening and appreciate the concern regarding the inability to harvest potency runestones. As a result, we’re planning on trying a modification to the existing runestone harvest loot table so it will always provide an essence and aspect as it does now, but it will also provide a 1/3rd chance at a potency instead of a chance of a bonus aspect runestone . The potency runestones will continue to be offered by vendors to give you the option of buying instead of harvesting as desired.

    On the other side, there is no need to buy them, if people don't have to sell them off just to clear out some space. Temporary shortages of mats will be a thing of the past after some time. I expect a swing in prices, first prices will go up, then they will come down again.

    Don't forget about all the people that will want to swap out armor what with all the trait changes coming up. All the min/maxers will be scrambling for new sets.

    I vaguely remember a Data mined post, from a few months ago, that showed the concept art. The speculation was that is was coming with DB. (I haven't read the Patch notes)

    I vaguely remember a Data mined post, from a few months ago, that showed the concept art. The speculation was that is was coming with DB. (I haven't read the Patch notes)

    @imnotanother There isn't a new material type coming out. There is of course motifs coming out, but I don't think that's what folks are concerned about. Anyone with 160CP or more, will suddenly see all their characters that are level 50 or above suddenly able to wear 160CP (VR16) gear. Personally, when DB hits I will suddenly have 5 characters that can wear 160CP all of a sudden. Right now I only have 1. So I will need to gear up 4 characters for top tier gear. This will cause an increase of mats being used (materials plus improvement materials). As well, ESO+ subs will get a crafting bag which means they may not have motivation to sell the mats they do have... since they no longer need to make space. On top of VR removal, there is also traits being changed and new sets being added. This will all help cause a huge influx on using mats, rather than selling them.

    As well with the potency rune change. Rather than running around a DLC zone and picking up all the potencies to get the right level, you will need to either purchase them or pick up every node (as there is no way to know what node will hold a potency and which will not).

    Also, I went ahead and listed all my low/mid level VR gear last night. MANY folks will not need that anymore so I figured it's best to sell now.

    I think there will be a boon for cp160(VR16) mats prices for a month until everyone regears, then prices will drop. Personally I think there will be more gold to made by selling mats, instead of armour sets, (with less problems).

    I dont think this is true because another change is you can put 0 points into blacksmith passives and still harvest top tier mats from the nodes in scaled areas. That means basically anyone can collect mats they need and not bother with leveling the crafting skill. Since it will go by your actual level (V16) mats you need rather than what your passive is at like now. So there will be a literal noah flood of top tier mats once DB hits.
