Ground Based Abilities Disappearing

This is a frustrating occurrence...

Any ground based abilities such as Wall of Elements, Liquid Lightning, Twisting Patch, etc. you place will disappear and need to be recast regardless of time left on the ability as soon as combat ends.

This is extremely frustrating when you are let's say in vMA when you want to prep the field, but end up having to recast abilities multiple times, costing resources. In fact, you can include any instance that has multiple spawns within a specific time frame, such as Trials or some vet dungeons, and even including PvP.

Could someone confirm if this is an intended mechanic or if this truly is a bug? Would be nice to know either way, however if it is intended.... :s Don't even get me started on the mobs that snare you and it persist even after they're dead. :/

    I have experienced this. The last member of a mob's death cancels such moves.

    I haven't had it actually mess me up, but you bring up a good point about vMA.

    I haven't had it actually mess me up, but you bring up a good point about vMA.

    Well that's a big one, but you can include DSA, all the trials, you can even include PvP because it happens in there as well when fighting a random NPC.

    So after to talking to quite a number of people in game, I'm finding that this is a common occurrence for other people as well.

    I think the problem is, in a mob situation, sometimes the death of one of the mobs causes the AoE to think they're all dead. I've seen it happen where I launch the AoE, and other enemies respawn or enter the area, but the AoE disappears because the enemies in the original AoE died. I think for this to be fixed, it would have to mean the AoE persists even after all enemies die, this way if new enemies enter the area, they would continue to be hit by the AoE.

    I think you're right, however considering that all the abilities I'm referring to can be cast outside of combat regardless if I'm in combat or not should not have any bearing. I shouldn't have to recast an ability even if a mob died even though my dot should technically have x amount of time left. I really wish a @ZOS_GinaBruno or someone could shed some light on this issue.

    This is the same with majority of abilities that are similar in nature. I think the sorc atro is different in this regard because it is considered a pet/mob with a health bar and what not.

    @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom Could we please have someone address this or look further into this? This is becoming a bigger issue.
