there has to be more to it though, i do writs on all my characters,i put them in the bank because only one character does the actual searching and has all the passives unlocked. the others are only able to find the mats at highest lvl and have lvl 3 hireling unlocked. BTW i dont have a banker nor have i been banned,im gonna take a guess and say theyre actually looking through our history with our character usage.
Resorting to personal attacks is just childish.
But I guarantee I'm not naming people to save yourself the stress, but I know there are people who will see this and use it as a way to get out of it. I highly doubt more than about 20 or so innocent people got banned, probably just a handful. But fair enough

I was not suspended until well after the patch went live. So yeah they are still suspending people. In fact i was in TS with a very well known community member who was streaming when it happened. So i have proof.

It's still because of tons of survey usage before the hotfix. Going forward people should be fine. I think you are right about the bots!

Guys the exploit was NOT swapping writs between characters using the banker.
It was using the banker to harvest THE SAME WRIT infinite number of times. The survey only used to disappear when you harvested the first node.....go to the site, nodes are there...move writ into your banker, harvest nodes, remove same writ from banker and the nodes respawned.....rinse and repeat.

Youre 100% right the issue was what you said but your failing to notice that the script they used to catch people could not tell the difference between a survey from your inventory that was just used and one that was placed in your banker hireling by another character that put it there a few minutes ago. And so now we have a lot of innocent people caught in the middle.

Lol i think we are following each other around
I agree, i was responding to people claiming the glitch was swapping writs between characters using banker and demanding refunds, when infact it was nothing like that.
I feel bad for those innocents caught up in it
That is a fair question. I have to explain how i play a bit first though so bare with me. I have 8 vr16(http://i.imgur.com/7lhvo5a.png) and each character has max professions, and i do all 6 writs on everyone of them daily. I always use my Banker Hireling to store all my survey maps then log to one character who has lots of speed increase and the CP passive to pick up nodes faster. When i get to a survey location that i know i have a double of in my bank i loot the current ones on the ground step away then pull that survey out of my banker hireling and loot it again. Also doing it this way saves me so much time on loading screens. If had actually did the surveys on all the characters that got them instead of just one, i'm looking at about an extra 20 mins in load screens a day hopping around wrothgar.

You save time on loading screens but how can you say that you save that for you still have wait in loading screen to relog with all 8 char you have so i dont see how you save time on for if you stand in orsinium main city with all you char it should be same loading time on loading screens if i understand and no im trolling i just wonder how you can say you save time on loading screens. I understand your think if your other 7 char is not stand in orsinium but other then that i dont see how you cna save time loading screen.
So I usually do writs then stick them in my bank (actual bank, not hireling), pick them up once or twice a week on one toon and do them. Is that why they're suspending people? I mean, I logged in after maintenance yesterday, so presume it's OK to do that? Is there another step needed to trigger the exploit?

If that's true I really hope that they will respond on this thread because otherwise I will unsub (even if I'm not affected), because this behaviour is unacceptable. If they aren't 100% sure that a person did use any exploit THEN DON'T *** BAN THEM *head -> keyboard*
I'm not supposed to get into the details about my disciplinary action but i will say i'm not perma banned, THIS TIME. In the past over issues like this, myself and others were, but once they learned they made massive amounts of mistakes they started to lift the bans. This is what bothers most about ZoS. They have done this in the past, and don't seem to learn form it. They have even said they don't use scripts to ban, but i find that hard to believe when massive amounts of people get banned at once and a large majority of them are then found to have done nothing wrong.
So here sit a lot of players in the same boat as me, who most likely wont even have their tickets looked at since its Friday night, and no one will be in the office to deal with this issue until next week. I guess the saving grace this time around is they didn't do it on the day before a major holiday weekend like last time, and they wont be away for an extended weekend. =(

If you don't have the banker hireling you should be ok. Hopefully ZoS can clear things up better and not be so secretive about this stuff, so people can avoid accidentally getting suspended like so many of us already did.
Is opening a new case with an already earned writ or going to the banker and returning triggering this ban? I dont have the summon banker but now im a little wary of doing my surveys....
It looks like its just with the Banker Hireling, but at this point i would make sure i go out of my way to avoid doing the same survey twice in a row until things are cleared up.

yep me too I've un-subbed, no more crown spending by me. Hell i don't even own the banker.
