Issue with the game, help me over come it?

So I tried ESO at release and quit shortly after, highest level being 17. Didn't have a great reason just wasn't interested. A few days ago I decided to give it another try since I have heard it as improved a bit. So got on made a new guy and running around and doing quests...and I remembered the main reason I quit. Missing fights. So far I have done like 3 or 4 quests where I completely miss the boss fight at the end and its depressing. A good example in one of the early quests where you go get a skull from and tomb and when you return it talk of a ghost that tries to stop you. Only...there was no ghost, not for me. I simply walked in and walked out, killed like 4 guys. Disappointing.

TL DR missing out on quest fights because they are already dead is killing the game for me, anything I can do to help that?

In the first two zones, you will find a lot of players. This means that bosses will sometimes be dead when you get to them. Just wait a few minutes for them to spawn again, and you can get the achievement for the delve. I have seen them respawn in about a minute quite often, but sometimes it takes two or three.

Note, once you get past the first 1 or 2 zones, you will find less and less of this happening. Once you get to Silver and Gold zones, you will find very few in the Delves with you.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

This can happen especially in the early zones/quests. Lots of people making alts or just starting the game, so lots of people in the same area. As you move along players spread out and you shouldn't have this happen nearly as much.

Yeah, the immersion of the quests can be broken, particularly in the busier zones.

Usually these bosses will respawn quickly, so waiting a bit is all that is required, but if you're also talking about a delve, where you may not know where the boss is located, you don't know where to wait, and have to guess. Once you do enough delves, you'll probably recognize the pattern where they are located.

Not all quests are like this, and as @Nestor stated, after the first couple zones (especially once you hit the Vet zones), you'll run into this a lot less.

If your on PC, there is an addon that will show you where the bosses are. Or, you can follow the RPG mantra that the Boss is almost always as far away from the entrance as possible. Looking at the map you will be able to pick out the one or two likely places for them to be.

No not Delve I don't even know what that word means lol just quest monsters open world content kinda stuff, how long does it take to get out of the first 2 zones? And the quest I was referring too was in the starting town for Ebonheart Pact, something about town being attacking and killing covenant guys.

So best solution is to suck it up buttercup, and or, stay around waiting for the mobs?

Is there anything that's solo in this game where I don't have to compete with people for gear and loots?

Yes those boss fights aren't instanced. Your problem is that you don't want to wait an extra few minutes for the boss to respawn...? lol

i know exactly what quest you speak of. its one of the first. that ghost dies very often and very fast. just wait a couple sec he respawns

as far as solo, this is an mmo. you can surely do whatever you want. wear gear that you find from killing npc, and do everything yourself (except group dungeons). but the best part of the game comes from group play IMO.

The only Bosses on the open world are World Bosses, and at early levels you want help for them. Other than that, its just mobs and they respawn in an annoyingly fast manner. I say annoying as i kill them on the way in, then I have to kill them again on the way out.

Delves are basically anything behind a door that has mobs that you kill. Most are caves or ruins, but it can be something that looks like the overworld.

The quest your talking about are the ghosts that you have to kill or subdue to stop the attacks on Davon's Watch. Those are a perfect example of mobs that respawn quickly. In fact, some people will hold off on completing that quest so they can run a pattern and grind the mobs. This means, running a large lap through the area, hitting all the mob spawn spots and killing the mobs. When you get some good AoE, you can even pull multiple groups of mobs and kill them all at once doing this.

Anyway, you can run a pattern up there where you go and kill all the mobs and by the time you get back to the start, they have all respawn again.

So, my best advice, have a little patience and you will have all that you want to kill appear right in front of you. :)

I was kinda reading this as him having more of an issue with the genre than the game mechanics. Seems to be a "better suited to sp games," sorta deal. Maybe I'm reading too much into it.

Hmm well I waited what felt like 3 or 4 minutes and didn't see him respawn but maybe I am exaggerating. I fully understand this is an MMO and going through a dungeon as a group I don't mind. But going threw a dungeon alone and some guy just runs on past me talking the loot, and killing mobs before I get to them so I just end up walking threw said dungeon isn't fun. At least not to me.

Well the loot is instanced in this game so no one can "take" your loot (not counting things like spawned chests, etc.). Just have some more patience, it will be rewarded!

ok, honestly I read that as, no one can take your loot except for when they can take your loot which is always, unless I am miss understanding what "spawned chests, etc" are? lol

If its a Quest Boss, you sometimes have to take care of a few things before they spawn. In the quest your referring to, there are 3 or 4 things you have to get before you see the boss appear. However, any quest boss will spawn for every player who is doing the quest once the conditions are met.

If you are unsure of what you need to do to make the Quest Boss appear, look in your journal and or map. Because, until you meet those conditions, the boss will never appear for you. It might appear for others, but even if you get hits in, your not going to get the quest credit anyway, if you have not met the per-requisites.

Loot is player specific, anything you kill you will get loot from. Chest are different, bags, backpacks, crates; all have timers I believe. As i said, I play on EP and I am always willing to help new players. Usually on around 3-5pm CST to about 10pm? Its friday so ill prob be on all night. Just send me a mail ingame @mmorales3741

edit: i also craft so i can help you with gear and stuff.

No, no one can take your loot under any circumstance. Loot in this instance is defined as the items and gold that drop from monster kills. When you kill a monster, you get your own loot which no one else can steal.

There are treasure chests which you have to lockpick that also have stuff in them, those spawn in the world around you and can be opened by anyone. Those chests are not instanced to your individual character.

maybe I should clarify. MMO wise I played some Wow, didn't like the graphics, and a lot of FF11 and FF14. to me a dungeon is you group up with 3 or 4 people and work together as a team to take down the area. That to me is fun. going into a "dungeon" where everyone is off doing their own thing is not fun. Are there dungeons where you work as a team and its only you and your team there?

My play style is I like to solo in the Open World, barring World Boss type stuff, and team up with a group for dungeons and raids. Is this game not a fit for me?

Also, so loot that if from a monster I kill is mine, everything else is free game? Correct?

Those dungeons exist here the same as in ffxiv.

For the most part, yeah. I mean resource nodes, chests and sacks (that also have crafting mats) are the only things in the game aside from monster loot that can be, well... looted. And those things are open to any player. But they also respawn relatively quickly so it's not lost forever. Most of the "loot" you'll want to get in the game is dropped from kills anyway, so really you have nothing to worry about.

And yes, those dungeons you described in FFXIV also exist in this game, there are quite a few of them actually (one in each zone and then some more).

This game is perfect for you. There are group dungeons that need or require 3 or 4 players to complete. You can also group up with anyone in the game world to run around and do things. Note, if you group with one other, you both get more Exp, so that's good. Then you can solo the rest of the stuff and ignore the other players who are around, or run with them if you want.

As far as loot goes, if you get a hit in on a mob, you will get a chance to get loot from the mob when it is dead. No matter how many others get hits in or who kills it. Containers, for the most part, are instanced to you. So you can go up to a container that was just looted by another player and loot it your self. So, there are no Boss or Loot Steals in this game. The major exception are Treasure Chests and Thieves Troves, those are first come, first serve.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
