Most of what drops in PvE is bound so no way to sell it and the rest drop very unreliably.

Motifs are so random and even then they sell for like 30k on average.

Now we go into PvP and most stuff you get is not bound+ you can get the drops worth 100k up till 500k

What the heck even in IC if I want to farm stuff in PvE im forced to PvP

The only way I make money as a PVer is by collecting mats refining and selling. This is much slower than PvP.

.......This is a total L2P moment. No one if forcing you to do anything and if youre that straped for cash go grind some mobs and sell what you collect to make money. Collecting mats and refining them is faster that PvP a siege can last an hour or two imaging how may mats you can collect in that amount of time. As for IC its in a zone with PvP players of course theres going to be PvP players ganking and fighting there. Talk to a few PvP players and get build ideas for what would be a good set you or run in groups of 12 to avoid getting ganked. Now for the drops that are worth 100k to 500k those only drop once in a campaign and that's at the very end and only the top 2% get the drops that are gold the other 98% gets the purple gear maybe 150k if a necklace of vicious death drops.

Crafting is a great money maker.

Make 8 master crafters. Do the 8 sets of writs everyday.. Collect hirelings mail twice a day when you can... Profit. I do everything but provisioning and alchemy on all eight netting me 20k just on hand in.

Sold 100 dreugh wax last night for 500k.... 10 kutas for 100k. I also grab the intricate rewards, turn them blue and sell them for 1k each.

1.9mil sitting in my bank and none of it comes from PVP.

    DEBUNKED!

    NEXT!

You are right about the bind on pickup stuff though. That needs to be cut WAY down.

Im guessing Console with those prices lol. IC farm is still a good way to make money willpower and agility rings still sell upwards 100k.

I don't play PVP and probably never will, nothing wrong with it, just not my thing.
I have a master crafter for all crafts and am finishing up the trait research for light armor. I belong to 4 high sales guilds.
I made most of my first million doing what most players told me wasn't profitable - crafting green level basic 2-4 trait armor (which you can progress to quickly) for levels 16-46 and selling 5 piece sets. Add to that watching for trends like Psijic Ambrosia, Orzorgas various dishes, and other products and I have done pretty well. Collecting the mundane things like fish bait, stealing weapons and armor for decon, (though that has become less profitable). I stay away from chasing things that are really hot and I don't buy and resell. In addition if I am not doing a pledge or group activity I monitor chat and when someone needs something made I can usually strike a deal for some gold or mats or motifs that I'm looking for.
One other thing is I consistently do all the crafting writs - doing them in Craglorn got me 40 - 50 Nirncrux through the maps and now I am in Wrothgar.
Not always exciting and not a lot of huge sales but it gets the job done and I can buy just about anything I want, except I make most of what I want, another benefit I suppose of crafting.
The point is, the game has an economy. It isn't static, responding to market forces just like the real world. Governmental over site and manipulations (think ZOS), consumers driving prices up and down, speculators, new products making old ones obsolete, ( think crafting motifs) and it actually makes the game more interesting. And just like a real economy you make piles of wealth or just enough to meet your needs and get by.
    It's up to you.

The OP and some others are complaining about the extra danger they may face, basically, wanting what others are getting at a harder price for nothing. There are reasons they should be getting better rewards, it is far more difficult when you are looking over your shoulder for someone like me who doesn't need the special gear to gank you.

PvP is not so bad. You dont have to travel forever to get where you are going, it is almost as easy as PvE zones. You can avoid most fights and run a minimum risk if you are cautious. The rewards should be higher and drops better for the poor souls that have to put up with us catching them when a zerg runs through.

I PvE in Cyrodiil and usually get by okay. I can only think of about 3 times I was ganked by groups specifically looking for someone like me, and many many many times me and another just passed by each other without fighting. I have been asked not to kill some that were only there for shards, and respected that wish. I belonged to a couple of guilds where players called out "just a PvE'er guys", and let the person be. Most of us aren't that bad if we know you wont gank us, but some are. We MOSTLY want who has AP, and most PvE'ers do not. They just arent juicy enough to waste our time on. :P

i think the reason they are so expensive is BECAUSE they drop in pvp only, its annoying trying to farm in pvp so the supply is very low so the demand presses the price up

but you do make a point with the binding, i would love to see more bind on equip rather than bind on pickup in PVE

PvP'ers went through a long dry spell of nothing to sell. It's only been since thieves guild that anything worth selling is possible again and most of those items are becoming common very rapidly (on PC/NA anyways).

There are far more ways to make gold in PvE. The majority of the economy is based on PvE.

Your format also needs to be considered. XBox prices, I believe, are significantly higher than PC due to lack of add ons. Enough mats to craft a stack of VR15 potions can run you over 50k easily. As others have said, PVP can be a serious gold sink.

Still I believe it is easier to find things you can sell for 1 or 2k in PVE, while the rng gods in Cyrodiil may bless you with a 50k item every 2 to 6 weeks.

    so easy to get
    Yes. With robust trait. :D
As well as 9000 maces and shields of willpower.
There are a few rare drops that are worth quite a bit - like purple/golden Vicious death jewelry (except purple rings cause of the merchant), but theyre only expensive because theyre rare and are parts of an OP set. Other pvp items are either cheaper (Akaviri motif) or BoP (monster items). And on the other hand, jewelry of Worm cult and Ebony sets also costs quite a bit and drops in PvE (normal and vet MoL). Ive heard that a purple Worm necklace was sold for around a million.
Also, you can get a steady income just by doing crafting surveys and farming/refining mats and harvesting alchemy ingedients. Yeah, a single columbine doesnt cost much, but you can get them on regular basis, unlike MoL drops and campaign rewards.

What exactly do you sell yo get that?

I farm mats for hours only to sell a stack for 10k and almost like one yellow every 200 refine only to sell for like 6k

His point is that PvP players make money while actually playing content that they want to while PvE players don't. PvP players receive BoE items while just well.. PvPing.. PvE players have to farm resources etc. for gold, not sell gear received from dungeons (because most everything is BoP).

Most of my money is made from doing writs, selling extra mats, and selling my crafts. All you need to do to make a decent income in this game is to hit VR1/level 50 on all your characters and do crafting writs at any skill level since they all give you 664 gold per turn in. I recommend doing alchemy and provisioning (8/8) because level 1 alchemy is self sustaining since you get the materials you just used as rewards and doing (preferably) 8/8 provisioning turn ins gets you food, a random recipe, and a chance at Psijic Ambroisa recipe page which make a couple thousand gold minimum. Now if you do this on a character you're guaranteed 1328 gold a day but doing it on all 8 characters is 10,624g BUT if you get the new 12 character limit in DB you'll make 15,936g a day for turning in 2 writs that you can make and have idle in your characters inventory.
