Question: do DoTs use a snapshot?

To elaborate: If I have dual wield on one bar (for higher weapon/spell damage) and cast a damage over time effect, then swap to my secondary bar (with, say, a 1h/shield, which offers lower weapon/spell damage), will the damage over time effect continue dealing damage based on the dual wield stats, or will the damage per tick be lowered because i'm now using a weaker weapon?

DOT damage is calculated with each tick.

it uses whatever bar's numbers you're on to calculate the damage

Well that bites... was hoping to run dual wield/shield and apply the dots then switch bars to become more tanky while they do their damage.

So with this being said if mechanical acuity procs and i apply a dot but the Dot is longer then the 5 seconds of mechanical acuity the last portion of the dot goes back to my normal crit chance?
