That's funny that you mention that @UltimaJoe777 I actually had a more complex concept that I didn't post in this thread because it started to get to be too much and I didn't want to muddy the core concept.

I thought that perhaps we could have the following indicators:
    • Standing in Red
    • Red 1 roll distance behind
    • Red 1 roll distance to the left
    • Red 1 roll distance to the right
    • Directional enemy indicators with size denoting distance from the player

Anyway, here's the screenshot mockup for that:

Low health also reds the top of the screen so that would be the indication to the player that their health is low.

Yeah but personally if I suddenly saw red I'd be pretty alarmed even if it's just the bottom of the screen lol

Not because of the encounter though :p

That's far enough and understandable @UltimaJoe777 . I'm not a UI designer so there might be some other ideas that could be used. The basic idea of having an on-screen indication when you're standing in red is pretty much what I'm suggesting. It doesn't really matter how it's implemented, just that we get an indicator.

An indicator on the character might work. What if they glow red or something if we are standing in their red. Or maybe just make the walls of the red zone REALLY high if we are in the red... Actually... I kind of like that idea. :open_mouth:

Something is really weird with the camera in 1st person mode, I cant use it even for quests and immersion. :D
Tried in my first day in eso, but it was giving me terrible vertigo and it was very hard to fight small enemies like banekins so I switched to 3rd person.
P.S. But even though I wont use it anymore, I think that improvements are always a good idea :)

Go to settings-->Camera. Turn off Head Bob or significantly reduce it to half of the default. Increase Field of View until it feels more comfortable (varies based on screen resolution, distance to your monitor, etc.). I additionally reduced rotation speed to half of what I have it for third person.

Not saying that will get you to enjoy first person more if you're diehard against it, but it should at least combat the "vertigo" you experienced.

I swap between the two by the way.
    My settings on a 1920x1080 resolution :

    First person
    Rotation speed - 11
    Field of View - 120
    Head Bob - 50

    Third person
    Rotation speed - 26
    Horizontal position - 100
    Horizontal offset - 0
    Vertical offset - 0
    Field of View - 100

    1. You want to preserve the immersion yet want something telegraphed on your screen to tell you to move? Bosses usually indicate with their movement their about to do a specific attack.

I.e. Final boss in Spindle. I know he's about to put poison out and if he's going to put it under my feet. He does an activation and looks at the intended target.

Learn to read the fights if you want 1st person immersion.

You misread @Giles.floydub17_ESO , I said it has to be toggleable in order to preserve immersion, which is indicating that I recognize that it would be counter-immersive for some people.

    @KoshkaMurka

You need to adjust the FOV (Field of View) setting for first person to get rid of the Fish Eye effect that causes this. The FOV you want for 3rd Person is different than what you may want for 1rst Person. Thing is the game does not change the FOV when you swap views.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
