I was there on PC version together with my wife for a year until we switched to TO XBOX. Just for the record, we own two very high-end gaming PCs.
It's exactly same game on console except few minor things, but it feels so much different. On PC I felt like I was playing an awesome MMO, but still an MMO like any other. On console however, we both felt like we're playing a Single player ESO game where you actually meet other players. I know it sounds weird but let me explain. Instead of reading scrolling chat in cities, you can hear everyone talking. I spent countless hours just fooling around the towns chatting with people who pass by. IWith voice chat only, you also know if you're playing with adults or kids...very helpful. You also foucs more on the experience instead of reading texts. Mentality of console players is also much different. They don't care about maxing out every little stat. They just want to adventure and have fun, make their characters based on how they want to play, not what is currently best according to forums. The fact that every console is the same, evens out the chances in PVP. Everyone has same resolution as you do, same FPS, same controller while on PC if you don't have newest PC, 3 monitors, $200 mouse and 100 addons running, you know you're lacking behind.
Now the bad stuff about the console. It's locked at 1080p 30fps. If 30 fps is something you can't stand then go for PC. With most recent patch framerate likes to spike a lot but hopefully ZOS will fix it soon. Lack of text chat (but will be added soon) can also be a bad thing for those who want to quickly communicate with other players in Cyrodil that are far away.
If you've never owned a gaming console, you probably won't understand how different it feels. Not just this game but all games. My wife was a hardcore PC player and since I bought her XBOX ONE she does't want to go back anymore despite better graphics on PC. Now I'm not on a journey to try to convince you that console version is better...it probably isn't, but me and my wife surely enjoy it more. It's probably because on console we care less about the numbers and that kind of stuff. We play the game like TES games should be played. An adventure in Tamriel, not a stats race like in every other MMO.
Hope this helps you!
get him on pc mate if only for the add ons knowing dps and where surveys are etc. tell him to sub a month at a time as well so he gets all dlc and crafting bag then he can be as smug as me.

Thanks very much! Glad to hear that side of the argument too!
Many of us use gaming mice, it helps immensely.Sunburnt_Penguin wrote: »Just a quick question as this thread is done, won't be derailed and it's not worth my creating a new one for it:
How do PC players manage to move, do abilities and change FOV all at the same time?
On console it's easy because your left thumb does movement, right thumb does FOV and three abilities whilst index do two other abilities and block & light/heavy (or middles if you play claw style)
I assumed that you'd use WASD for movement, mouse for FOV and numlock numbers for abilities but this seems pretty difficult only having two hands and with the distance between mouse and keyboard.
