Are we getting a free respec with DB?

I hope so as there's some big changes and I recently spent a bunch of gold switching skills across several characters.

Based on people complaining about getting their skills wiped Zeni stopped giving free respecs with TG. From what they've communicated they aren't going to be wiping skills for DB either.

They just need to lower the cost of respeccing at the shrines to 1 gold per skill for that first week.

And yet @Typhoios has the right idea that would make everyone happy, those of us with limited funds that are affected by the upcoming changes and those who don't care to change or dread the auto-wipe for all characters.

Thats a pretty clever way of going about it. Wonder if ZOS stopped to think about this option before.

They probably did, then realized they could sell that very scroll for crowns instead and reconsidered.

An optional free respec would be the best way on these occasions. People didn't complain about the principle of free respecs but at the fact that it was forced on them at login whether they wanted it or not.

In particular, for those returning to the game after a layoff in order to check out the new content it was hugely off-putting to discover that you couldn't do a thing until you'd worked out where to put all your skill points with little chance of remembering your original build after such a layoff. It was also a pain for those with a lot of characters, and not everyone saw the need to respec in the first place.

Something like a respec scroll offered free for a week in the Crown Store or a nominal cost for a week at the shrines would be a far better way of handling it and give everyone the flexibility to try out different builds during the week - if, and when, they wanted to.

A free respeck scroll would allow those who want to change things after ZOS changed so much.. and for those who don't want to change anything... they don't have to use the scroll. This sounds like a fair thing to do since so many things have been changed.

Except they could just mail every character a bound respec scroll. No need to involve the store in this, or give people unlimited respecs for a week.

One time, one scroll, in the mail, done.

Yes, I would prefer to use the respec scrolls. I have five characters on NA and EU, it would just be easier that way.

But in case they don't, I will be doing this.

There wasn't one on the PTS, altough strangely my main, and only my main, had his CP reset.

I mean in this thread there is already a complaint about the past skill resets with multiple agrees.

The best way I think would be to do like when they change campaigns up. Just give every character one free reset at a shrine. Not need to involve items.

The only "crying" was from people who had all their skills reset, whether they wanted it or not.

I don't see anyone in here complaining about the idea of a respec, only the forced implementation.

Except people would forget the scroll is in their mailbox until it's deleted.
Or destroy it by accident.
Or use the scroll by accident.

No matter what they would do, somebody would complain.

I'd rather they not focus on quarterly respec options and instead focus on single tree or category wipes that you can do any day of the year.

For the record I was one of those folks who complained about the last Sudden Skill Reset Syndrome.

Last time the issues came up it was suggested they did not have easy way to give everyone a mail with items incl.

I don't want a mandatory respec but an optional mechanism is fine.

Heck if it worked like CP respec it would be great.

If mail is an issue then they can have a temporary 1 time use free respec scroll in the crown store.
This would work as it be optional then open the door for them to sell respec scrolls later...we all know they like to sell stuff
