Your welcome to stack hardened + harness but if they run out every 6 seconds you'll be doing that often.

Why do I need that massive dmg shields combination (harness+hardened ward) if it lasts so short that it might not be fully consumed during the battle? I see that players who don't play sorc are very glad for the reduction of the duration of shields. But I think it's only from PvP perspective (sorcs will be much easier to kill which is obvious). But such non-sorc players don't think that, when PvEing, sorcs (DD ones) will be doing much less damage cause all their magicka will be used for reapplying the shields (just to be able to survive) and the damage will be done exclusively by staves and only from time to time between casting shields (and even with less choice of offensive abilities cause shields will have to be put into main bar). Sorcs won't have any reliable defence and will be fragile as funk. As a result, it will affect all 4-man groups while doing the group dungeons because it will just reduce the damage done by the group overall, the duration of dungeon runs and their overall difficulty. Don't blame sorcs then that they won't be doing much damage... I don't PvP much so it doesn't bother me from that perspective. I mainly PvE and as such, taking into account how much time I have put into my only char which is magicka sorc, there will be really no pleasure for me to play anymore and most likely I'll quit.
I have no words for ZOS how many incompetent employees you hire who make decisions regarding balance changes. There wasn't, there isn't and apparently there will be no balance in this game at all. Each time you buff one class, the other becomes useless and ruined. I get an impression that people who had created this game are not the same people who are maintaining it now...
Totally agree. And just think of the MA: all of your magicka pool will go in shields for the mere sake of surviving...
Against anyone competent those shields are down in 6 seconds anyway.

Stop your crying. That's exactly what we stamina builds used to suffer from by all of our defence mechanics like block and dodge draining our main pool.

I think your getting shield stacking mixed up here.
When sorc use hardened + harness that is shield stacking making it stupidly hard for other magicka builds to kill them because they had to get through 2x shields which equal around 25k-30k shields when added. It's a stupid number.
Now stamina builds never had a problem with sorc beacause they needed to only get through 1 shield, it was tricky since it can't be crit but still possible.
Magicka builds using 1 shield won't be too annoying. I hope it won't anyway. If they want to be able to get a 10k shield they'll have to spec a lot into bastion.
And if people really do start using shields a lot i'll take some points out of crit dmg and stick into shattering blows.
Oh also the non sorc pvper's should equate to 75% of the playerbase but because sorc are OP they equal around 50/60%.
6s means you won'y have time to shield stack if you ever plan on doing any dmg, meaning 1 shield it is to be able to actually kill people.

As I've said, I've never seen any sorc who would not have been using it. Even among players who are considered as the part of the 'highest quality' playerbase. Apparently ESO is only for elite players...

No it's just basic, if your a dd why waste time and use a shield, you won't be getting hit either way.
Believe it or not every other dd in the game makes it through without using a 20k shield in pve.

Sorry but it's true. If you can't avoid the little red circle on the ground or dodge roll a projectile coming towards you that you are forced to shield stack in a dungeon with a healer spamming heals and a tank taking most of the agro. Then yes it's a l2p issue. Get over it. It's still 6 sec of 40k shields and now it's a pure 40k shield not 'half magick and half magick physical '
