This is the way it's always been, there's nothing changing here except you don't have to level each alt individually before regearing them. It's still less hassle than before VR is removed.
I'm sorry but it looks like all the doom-and-gloom predictions are simply not going to pan out.

The good news is the next time they raise the cap, you'll probably need 1500 mats per item instead of 150. lol
