Vet Removal Gear Scaling Questions/Recommendations

With the removal of veteran ranks, all of the gear that we have acquired will then be re scaled in someway to our champion points. This is leaving players with a lot of questions/concerns. I will ask some of my own.
  1. Will old gear such as say necropotence be capped at some kind of vr12 champion point equivalent, and still be weaker/lower tier than vr16 gear?
  2. Will players have to go back and get and craft new gear as they get more champion points, and say for current max level players, will we have to re farm all of our helms every time the champion point max increases?
  3. Will we have to re craft gear, and have to farm some new type of ore/leather/cloth.
  4. Or will there be some other system in place that allows us to improve our already acquired gear?

Those are some of my burning questions, here is what I would very much like to see put in place. As this is a huge change, that can either go very smoothly or drastically hurt the game going forward.
  1. Some kind of system wherein, the max level an item can be is 50, then on top of that at certain champion point milestones the item can be improved to "level" it up, with some kind of new item that drops of off bosses or in dungeons or what have you, you can make it a farm if need be does not matter, once we are not forced to re gear. It can be purchasable with AP/Telvar for pvp players, or again dropped in Dungeons or given as rewards for Dailes for PVE players. This would allow players to come still have some forward progression but not have to farm kena 1 million times to get another Divine Head, or worst redo VMA for those weapons every time... (personally love VMA, so I will just cause but still)
  2. Please allow us to apply the prior method to older gear sets, there is dire need for diversity, because as it is most are using Hundings/Julianos and willpower/agility. Sure there are players who try to go a bit outside that box, like myself but our options are quite thin... Crafted gear is still able to be made to any level, please allow old set pieces to be dropped at max level, master weapons are amazing yet to use them would be to gimp oneself, these really need to scale up. And then be improved with the method stated previously, maybe at higher cost what have you, but something to add diversity.

Sincerely,
cpuScientist

I've heard from elsewhere that 10 Champion Points will equal a veteran rank, and that you'll be able to equip Vet16 gear with 160 Champion Points.

I'm sure there are many a player who already has much more than 160 by now, including myself, which made me think, will they make us start all over at 0 points again and regrind? Or will they let us keep the points we already have. This I don't know.

We will keep our points, and moreover we'll gain some point depending on our higher levelled character. That was January's infos.

We'll probably have to farm for new stuff each time a maj bump the max equipment tier. Exactly the same as when the level max increase.
But for the scaling of the old set, I don't know, the only info from a ZOS we get it that "will be interesting, we'll see what we can do" or something like that.

Having to regrind to remake our equipment, or re find the perfect drops is just a horrible idea in my opinion. Let us just improve the equipment we have, and then add new drops to those older areas so we have an authentic reason to go back in there and not an artificial one. Or make it so to get the "improvement stones" you have to go back in there, but to have to play with the RNG again is just a bad idea. And to have to go find more ore and all that. Anyway, we need more information on this because this is a very big change coming up.and making it that armor level instead of VR16 is CP160 or whatever is not really what people were hoping for with the removal of vet ranks, that is just a silly re-branding.

I don't think so, it wouldn't make sense. You already gained champion points while leveling from vr1 to vr16, why would they give us more depending on that?

To OP's topic, gear that is not currently max level will probably remain the same, unless they want to scale somethin in particular. No, we won't need to craft anything new this patch, effective max level gear will remain the same too. Until Zos decides to push the max level cap, like they did in the Ic patch. Even then, they could scale some items like monster sets to the cap, we'll see about that eventually.

I believe it was an extra 40cp for a vet16. Not sure if there's any sliding scale with lesser amount for a lower level max character. And you only get it once, regardless of how many v16's you have

Actually, I would have loved to see something really different:

    1. All armor scales to level 50 only ... no "better armor" bc of CP and this should be applied to all armor, crafted or dropped. IMHO this increases the amount of different amorsets available and used hence encourages build diversity. Adding to it it makes armor have a good value evenso the next patch is just a week away ... providing new traits and special effects as well as looks.

    2. All level 50 armor require at minimum 3 different ressources when crafted. (i.e. 3 types of leather for medium armor ... ). IMHO this would impact the value of materials to a point where all materials hold a value hence provide a positive effect on economy.

The ONLY thing I can see that ppl would complain about having to collect/buy more then one ressouce type to craft a set. However collecting/storing different types of materials is done currently as well.... so as I see it, its nothing new to complain about to little bag space (if one likes to complain at all).

Otherwise I only see positive effects to this changes... oh well ofc there isn't any "OP" set anymore to be chased and misused till it gets nerfed. But that isn't bad is it?

If CP is capped at 160, it's a major slap in the face. Too many of us are higher than this.

Max level gear requires 160cp, you can still have upto 501 cp. no face slapping at all.

And how exactly is this balanced again? It isn't? Alright then...

ZOS actually said that. They said you get 40 CP for VR16 characters (now is that for every VR16, I don't know) over 160 CP and you get jumped to 160 CP if you have a VR16 with less than that, but that info might be outdated now...

Ah I see. Well weren't they going to expand the cap on CP regardless? I'm not at 501 just yet, but this whole cap thing has been like this since what, IC? Plenty of time for people to catch up.

I thought they were bumping the cap up a bit?

Well it's coming tomorrow lets see if they make this smooth and smart. Or if they just change vr16 to CP160. And in effect change nothing really....

And get ready to post CP to get groups lol
