I'm on xbox one, queue'd for 10 dungeons. I wanted to just do dungeons today but instead I'm forced to just solo quest for 2 hrs until I give up on the queue finder and just log off in frustration.
How is this allowed in an MMORPG? I thought the O stood for Online.
And to all those who say, "just queue as a healer or tank!", why would I change my build for 30k gold or w/e in the hopes that suddenly a 2hr queue will go down to something reasonable? The fact that it is 2hrs in the first place makes me think that no one in this game even bothers to do group dungeons, or that the group finder tool does not work.

Spearshard✭✭✭✭It all depends. I've q'ed for dungeons and got picked up almost immediately, and other times took an hour and a half. Problem is most people are tired of doing the same dungeons. Also, could just be a slow day. It helps if you just choose "pick random dungeon." Also, everyone wants to be a dps, fewer want to be a healer, and almost no one wants to tank.0

I'm not sure if ZOS has confirmed it or not, but the consensus among those that I know is that changing zones resets your position in the queue. I haven't tested it myself, but then I rarely wait longer than 15 minutes because I build my characters so that I can DPS + (tank or heal) and quickly switch between each setup.
Seriously, that 30k or whatever you have to spend will pay off big time when it comes to getting quick groups.@wayfarerx - PC / North America / Aldmeri Dominion0 -

I feel like that matches my experience. Even just entering caves that are different zones seem to bump up my wait time, though I haven't queued in a month or two.0 -

✭✭✭✭✭I call bs on the change zone thing, I've had nearly 2 hour queues on some of my characters who were just doing farm circles that didn't go into delves or use wayshrines to travel, just collecting nodes around the zone. The longest was also around 1 hour, 57 minutes (hah!) while in Craglorn before I gave up. There is a strange coincidence whenever my characters encounter and engage dolmens the finder has a more likelihood to find me a group, or I have really weird timing.
I have however been getting more frequent partial groups or large groups. Sometimes there's only 2 or 3 of us placed into a party and it somehow forgot to fill in the rest or more frequently it paired 6-7 people for a 4 man limit dungeon, which I promptly leave group and let them sort it out.

✭✭✭✭✭When the tool was added, zoning caused the timer to reset. Now the timer keeps going but it seems that whatever was causing the timer to reset was still happening.
I've gotten in groups while zoning after the incremental patch this week so I'm not sure that's still the issue.
Queues have been longer after the update tho-PC (PTS)/Xbox One: NewBlacksmurf

Naah the activity finder should show what encounter needs what and allow you to select to join.
The other options should be to queue for first avilable.
That's the issue. The queue isn't set up like I just described but it should be-PC (PTS)/Xbox One: NewBlacksmurf

Yeah that's how GW2 works, and their group finder is the best I've seen yet. You can find a group pretty much instantly in GW2 (although not having traditional class roles probably helps that a lot)0 -
