Magicka Templars suck!!!(Edit)

They suck in survivability!!!
(Magicka templar only)

I just don't know how other are able to pull off ? Especially blablafat.(that guys needs an Oscar)

Maybe you guys use sword and shield or just go for the healing root but you sacrifice DPS while other class dont and can maintain DPS and survivability.

No escapism like bolt and cloak and neither a tanky passive or something like DK( I have not played a DK,yet)

So, my only option is to be a support class and just use Radiant Oppression.
Its a very boring play style.

Please ZOS, give some love to this class at least the survivability part. With all the stun, snare and dots this class is good as dead in my opinion.

Do Magiplar need help or not?

Note: I was stamplar V16 bosmer and switched to Magiplar to see whether it is good or not

Magicka templars needs help.

It is obvious for everyone who running alone and not healbot/beambot in 30 men zerg or just PvErs where class balance is not meaning much. But since 90% of templars are those ZOS thinks mTemplars are OK. Ironically in PvE they are one of the best dps and best healers.
It's not hard to find noobs, shred them and make video compilation of how "OP" templars.
Just use forum search OP, all you will see is topics like "healer templar pvp build" coz people gave up on self-sustainable solo or small-scale templars that can do something except healing.
P.S.: it is useless to make polls like this coz people on forum will always claim they are templar beasts, shredding everyone and everything, however when you meet them in game they dieing like a ***.
Summary: suck in PvP, awesome in PvE, but since it is pvp vote..

My VR7 Templar is as strong as my VR16 Sorcerer if not more. There are indeed a few things that must be dealt with, like the annoying auto-sheath and Topping Charge, but nothing that damage the gameplay that much.

Magicka templars needs help.

I honestly don't know how you guys do it! I really want to be good with my Templar but still no idea what I'm doing wrong! Especially against stamina builds who always kill me! Maybe it's just not the class for me but I'm vet12 and I keep trying... and dying...
If someone could tell me their secret I would really appreciate since my ps4 controller has been suffering most of my rage lol

Magplar is not 1 button dps these days. With the right rotation they can exceed 30k dps...

Templars are fine in pvp, they can double dip into cp to get very high dmg.

Not sure why you think they need to be healbots and sit at the back spamming radiant, those types of players are the actual worst. Must be hard work and very fulfilling spamming 2 buttons.

Jabs/Flare/Radiant all do stupid dmg.

Templars don't havr to give anything up for dmg as their heal scales with magicka which scales with dmg...

Dk's have to give up a lot though, bad dmg, no mobility, no god class heal, have to give up a lot of dmg in order to not get wrecked by every other class and dk's don't have the best dmg to start off with in the first place.

You need to learn to understand, people fighting on youtube video is usually like this: Pro/Good Players vs VERY FUCKNG TERRIBLE bad players.
That is how some people look very OP although they are not.

Last, Templar is strong....IF set up correctly.

PvE wise Magicka Templar is on TOP of the end game DPS classes.

It is, like with most players a l2p issue. Learn to inform yourself, ask some buddies, ask people that know how to play certain classes..to get better at the game.

OP, when you get ganked....

Immediately pop your channelled focus(increased spell and physical resistance) and purifying ritual, pop an immovable potion, drop shards immediately on top of you.(This automatically disorients/stuns those who come too close)
Tag ranged enemies with total dark(reverses projectiles),vampires bane(increased spell power, excellent DOT and massacres vampires), aurora javelin(keep em off of you) dark flare, dark flare, toppling charge, jabs, dawnbreaker(also stuns) and then radiant .

If your Spell power is decent, I don't know many people who can survive this.

I am leveling a Temp for the first time ever and I have been here since beta and i have to say I absolutely do not know what people have been complaining about. I love her! Awesome DPS and heals.

Anyway i use dw + s+b

My s+b is my heal side, if you get ganked and there in your face throw a jav at them gives you some room, let you get a heal them charge in there and jab them. Your jabs do nice dmg and with the snare really puts them under pressure.

You can easily kill someone by flare/charge/ ult/proxy/ jesus beam.

Your flare + charge hit at the same time, your ult/proxy will as well and just spam that OP jesus beam to finish.

Templars are awesome. We run 4 templars in the vet dungeons and its insane in terms of DPS and self heals. Only in a few fights does one of us have to actually change gear and tank a bit and all of that without the need to respec CPs or attributes. Now 1v1 PVP is another matter...

It was a mesh of what to dos with no specific situation on when to do it. lol My bad.

Your jabs does heals for you. And you have complete control of the situation if you cover yourself in traps. Runes, shards,whatever.

I also prefer resto over doing that set up.
I like having the ability to recover magicka at a distance if I can. And you are allocated a lot more magicka with a resto staff heavy attack.
So I either 2 piece magnus s&b or d.w dps bar, and a magnus resto as a heals/cc bar.
5 heavy piece twice born set. Atronarch and apprentice mundus
WillPower Arcane Jewelry( 2 SD , 1 recov glyphs)
2 light magnus( both with impen)
34 points in magicka
30 points in health
Youd be surprised how less often you don't have to heal yourself when you're beefed up.

My dark flares can still hit players for 9-10k ,my regen is around 1500.
(1650 with my barrier slotted plus 240/s with channeled focus)
30k+ Spell Resist
28-30k+ Physical Resist
Put 100 CP in hardy and 100 in elemental defender
Health between 28-32k
30-33k Max Magicka
SD between 2400- 2650.

I find that those players who want the most damage possible"ZEE OMFG, proc'd for4.5k SD, I'm the best!", have the worst recovery. All you have to do is tire them out. Which won't be long.
