Yes, we died. No, we didn't care. Yes, we had fun.

Im linking the only "Guides" per ZOS website. Technically there are no role guides
everything else is opinionated from players....the whole point being....role expectations are largely opinion based so who is doing it "right" and who is doing it "wrong" is very subjective unless its an obvious situation like healer isn't healing or DPS isn't doing dmg or tank is playing as a healer or DPS, but that link provide the best guide for the design of this game.

Or if your DPS is low, look up online for builds.

Just a comment that one of the problems with "DPS is low" is how do they know? What is the proper DPS for a Stamina Nightblade - V13 (for example)? What is the proper DPS for a VR 13 in Wrothgar compared to a VR 13 in Cadwell Silver?

I like the idea of them teaching about combat, and would love it if they would just say what the skills and passives did, rather than having the community figure it out, only to find out that it is bugged. They need to teach animation canceling, too.

But chasing DPS is only useful if you know what to chase.
Well, if you see others near your level taking mobs down significantly faster than you, then you need to review your DPS.
One more way is to visit Cyrodiil. Even with the problems there, it is fantastic for evaluation of builds. Of course there will be some dedicated PvPers who will kill you, you can compare the values of how hard their abilities hit compared to yours. That will give you a general idea.

Another logical way is to check your progress in boss battles. Some boss battles have an indirect time limit via the mechanics. In some boss battles, like the Selene battle in Selene's Web, High Rilis fight in VBC or the Fire Maw battle in VCoA, adds keep spawning infinitely through out the battle. Eventually they will pile up and will kill your group. Either you can finish the boss before that happens or keep killing the adds to keep their numbers in check and thereby increase the time limit. If you find yourself getting overwhelmed, that is definitely a DPS issue. A good tank may however help increase this time limit by crowd control. In the Valkyn Skoria battle, there is a more direct time limit with the platforms breaking. In the VFGrotto Gamyne Bandu fight, four obsidion aspects will pin down a player and you will have to kill one of the aspects in about 10 secs left. A good DPS will be able to take down a aspect of his own level with a good margin of time left.

What I mainly want to point is that the people who can't finish the current dungeons are mostly doing it wrong. Either they are having trouble to make sense of the combat mechanics, which ZoS can fix by adding proper tutorials. Or they just don't want to learn or may be are just trolling, in which case they don't deserve to finish it anyway. The game's difficulty should not be decreased for this.

The healer wanting to be a khajiit has nothing to do with it, coming from a khajiit tank.

It's not a good PUG group if the tank isn't a Khajiit Stamblade with DW.

Don't underestimate the Khajiit DW Stamblade. I am serious. If played right, they can be potentially some of the most interesting tanks. I used my Khajiit Stamblade DD to tank after changing to sustain sets and that works out fine. Just dodge the dodgeable attacks and use mist form for the potential one-shots. Add teleport to shade to the equation and you can potentially keep bosses (and adds) spinning in place. And you will still be dealing pretty good damage and healing yourself if required. Hard to master but once you get the hang of it, you will have a unstoppable war-machine.

Couple of things that I would love to point out..

    1. Tanks do not need stamina regen, since they cant regen while blocking anyways. It is as useless as health recovery now.

    2. Your tone of voice, or tone of chat (depending on platform I suppose) can really make a huge difference. If you say something that implies they dont know what they are doing, they can get defensive. Instead, asking at the beginning of the dungeon, "Has everyone done this before?" If you get no response, just assume yes. IF they die to mechanics, explain the mechanic bc at that point you should now assume at least one person does not know the mechanics. If someone isn't doing their job, like a tank not taunting, ask "Hey tank, are you running inner fire or pierce armor?" Whether you know they are or not, asking that gives them a sense of control in the conversation and they don't assume you know everything like an "elitist." If they say no to either of those, then politely tell them that they need one of those two skills in order to hold aggro on things as that is a mechanic of the game.

In the case of a tank running out of stamina, he's either not using pots, has a really low stamina pool, and/or has no other templar to provide him with shards. AKA his build is wrong, or hes not doing something right that is crucial to tanks. Maybe he's also spamming stamina skills? You shouldn't have any stamina issues as a tank, if you know how to manage it. You cant tank without it.

If someone refuses to accept help from another, then they are not worth your time to even finish the dungeon. That's my opinion at least. I started up a training/PvE guild on PC NA recently, and I've received a overwhelmingly positive feedback on this type of thing. In less than 2 weeks I already have 40+ members that are all active, willing to do pledges and here's the kicker - Willing to learn. Those that have sub-optimal builds want to get better, want to get stronger/more efficient, or they are aware they are not the best they can be. We are all about having that drive to get better, as a growing community, and as PvE players.

Players unwilling to learn should be left alone because they apparently want to play alone. When they realize what they are doing isn't working, they will seek out help.

    my 2 cents.

Most agreeable. Till ZoS starts making the game easier for the people who doesn't want to learn.

I'm curious, what would the tank have used stamina regen for anyway?

I don't find stamina regen very necessary. But the particular tank we had, gave the same excuse of being out of stamina over and over. But he did not like the idea of having the Max HP/Stam regen food, I was offering either.

To be fair, I prefer Mag/Stam food on my Magi Tank. Let's me switch out to heals easily as well. But I stacked enough HP to get high 20k when I'm scaled anyways.

Great Story! I am a moderate casual, my builds are based on enjoying adventuring, die, so what, get up and try something else, follow the set up everyone else is doing? Why? I play to see things, hack on stuff, success in game to me is forgetting the RL for time I play, without failure, there is no quest, no adventure and no story if its all in numbers to create a sure thing. And yes, I do occasionally gamble.

Not saying you're wrong, but, do you think it's reasonable to gamble with someone elses things?
Referring to time spent in a PUG dungeon.
I don't mind spending an hour in a dungeon, but not finishing it gets to me a bit.
