This seems like one of the most obvious things you’d want to ignore someone who has no way of knowing
As to strings of quotes, yes sometimes someone fails to trim down their reply to include only the relevant quotes, but there are other times when it would still be relevant to what you said. Not knowing you’ve been quoted at all is obviously more frequent a problem than the few times when you would be notified of being quoted in a long string that was no longer relevant to you.
It could only enhance communication between people to be notified when someone quotes you. Consider instances where someone is asking you to clarify what you said, or specifically asking you a question, or intending to involve you further in a discussion by expanding upon one of your points, etc.
Um…. What have you done to what I said….? (Or rather, did not say?) I don’t follow your intention.
Do you mean to demonstrate it would be nice to know when someone mis-quotes you?
Under notification options WHY in heaven’s name is there no ‘notify me when someone quotes one of my posts”? This seems like one of the most obvious things you’d want to be aware of quickly, without necessarily having to read every addition to every thread you’ve posted in. It seems very remiss to ignore someone who has quoted you specifically, yet there is no way of knowing they have done so unless they also ‘mention’ you, or you are watching every response like a hawk - which can be a bit too much to expect with very active threads or if you participate in a lot of discussions. It seems like an extreme oversight that one can be notified of all sorts of other things but not someone quoting you.
