Templars Religion and Beliefs ?

Just curious if Templars have a Religion or Code they believe in ? Do they choose and worship one of the Divines ?

It's up to the player who they worship. Otherwise they have no set religion or Code.

My templar is an altmer and, before all else, acts in the name of the Dawn, and the true state of being of all created things. However, among the Ancestors, she particularly venerates and follows the example of Syrabane, healer and arch-mage, exterminator of sload.

My Templar believes that all Templars are a fragmented piece of an unknown divine's tear and that one day, when all templars unite together, will form into this divine who will cleanse the world of all Dragonknights,Nightblades, and Sorcerers. There can be only one Templarander.

It's a class, not a religion.

It's like asking: which god do Dragonknights worship?
There is no particular faith they feel drawn to, they draw their powers from the Light of Aetherius, but that's just the plane the Aedra live on, not a particular Aedra.

templar is a class, not a beliefs/religion.
but in fact they use "sun magic" , wich is magnus and also a representation of Auriel's power.

I hate to be the funpire here, but in fact, all of the Templar Lore books found in the game seem to point out that Templars are worshipers of Stendarr:

Magic is magic, there is no such thing as holy magic. Templar is just a class. You can worship Stendarr, Molag Bal, or be an atheist or worship yourself and still be able to cast all that templar magic. Divine magic doesn't exist in Elder Scrolls. It's just magicka.

It seems strange to have a class named after crusading Knights and not expect there to be more than just a passing resemblance. As usual play the game the way you want to play. I have a Breton Templar myself and it's odd not having some reason or guiding theology as a supposed religious warrior.

I mention something along the lines of this on another forum but ill repeat it here.

Templars dont fit into lore as the game shows them, but knightly orders devoted to any specific god would exist, this would be the templars origin. The god is up tot he player, their magic is simply stylized destruction, alteration, and restoration (I cannot stress this enough, IGNORE THE TOOLTIPS).

the lorebooks from ESO explaining the dragonknight and templar classes are bad from a lore perspective.

Yeah I'm ok with that as a way forward for a Templar. Cool now all I need is a deity to worship.

I do think there are some followers of Almsivi in the game who are Templar (NPC). There are also clearly some OrcPlars in Wrothgar, and they worship either Trinimac or Malacath. Thematically though and stylistically the Stendarr connection makes a lot of sense. Stendarr is the patron of justice and the imperial army (along with Akatosh). I think they've left a lot of leeway thematically though.
