Starting launcher extremely slow (NOT download speed)

Hi guys,
I just bought a new laptop, an ASUS ROG GL552VW-CN471T (google to see the amazing specs).
On my old laptop the game and the launcher ran fine. But on my new one the launcher is so extremely slow!
When you first start it after installation its fine. But if you close it and want to reopen it it takes around 5 minutes till the launcher has booted (looks like an image being downloaded on a really slow internet connection). This is the same with only the launcher installed and the lancher + game installed.
Whats going wrong here? :(

First, most of us don't use the Launcher other than Patch Days. Make a shortcut to the EXE and use that to launch the game.

Asus, a good company, has two pieces of software that are supposed to benefit games, but can cause problems with those games, like Skyrim and Fallout. Not sure if they have the same problem with ESO< but its worth disabling them to see if performance is better. One is GamerOSD (allows screen resolution changes while playing the game) and Xonar (which enhances surround sound, something ESO surely does not need) See if the game runs better if those are not running.

Also, there is a ton of preinstalled programs, McAfee being one of them. Perhaps that firewall is blocking the program. As always it is best to run a Laptop for gaming under a strict clean boot to stop all the shovel ware from taking up CPU cycles

Please note you are not disabling these programs or uninstalling them, just stopping them from running with Windows Start up, you can still launch and use them as needed, when you need them.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I did a clean install of Windows 10 to get rid of all the bloatware. I only installed the hardware drivers.

Anyone? I removed all bloatware, updated all drivers, other games work fine, i can play far cry primal on max settings. ESO works fine if you install it and play it without closing the launcher. But if i'm done playing and close the launcher or restart my laptop the launcher takes 5 min to start and reacts really slow to actions like starting, clicking on buttons or even hovering over the buttons.

Kinda lame. its impossible to play, so i wasted alot of hard earned money on a game i can't play anymore because it can't handle high end laptops. But has no problems with low end laptops. :(

As @Nestor said. Just put a shortcut on your desktop for the actual eso.exe file, not the launcher.exe, and run from there. The launcher could be running slow due to it getting adverts or trying to determine whether to run the original 32 bit client or the recent 64 bit one.

If your doing this because of what the Launcher says, before you R&R, try the shortcut to the EXE

Try to "right click" your launcher icon, go to "properties" and the "compatibility" tab. Select "Run this program as administrator". That fixed it for me, I think its a Win10 bug of some sorts.
