Please stop crying about bolt escape

Title says it,I'm still seeing noobs complain about the ability in threads and comments. Bolt escape was nerfed in the Imperial city patch and people are still not satisfied. The solution is quite simple, LEARN TO GAPCLOSE!

This is from the POV of an experienced PvPer who has been on the escaping, and chasing side of the spectrum, not someone who has tried PvP once or runs in zergs and had a sorc escape from him/her and came to the forums and complained about the "op spammable skill that has no counters" in a comment. I'll explain why it's not spammable for the people who can't learn other classes.

For every time you streak, it costs 2x more the next time you cast it within 4 seconds. Me, like all other sorcs can only use it 6-7 times before being completely out of magicka.

And here's how to counter it

Ambush
Lotus fan
Crit rush
Bolt escape
CC from snipe
Shield charge
Horse (if not in combat )
Rapids
Crystal Frags
Stop zerging

I probably missed a few

Any player with half a brain has a gapcloser on their bar, if not your fault.

Reasons a sorc "streaks away"

You didn't gapclose before he got too far away
Your running in a Zerg
The sorc sucks and isn't worth killing
He/she is scared of you(just be happy with that)

Regardless, it's bolt ESCAPE being used as intended

If you still think it's an "op spammable skill" then I personally challenge you to make a sorc and try to escape from compatent players, I promise it's easier to counter then to actually use.

Streak is such a bad escape skill that I exclusively use it offensively on my sorc. The cost is too prohibitive for anything else

Exactly but people still refuse to counter even though its unreliable for the user. They just complain about it because its easier then countering it

I be getting hate tells about "running away" just because I streak through someone then step behind LoS. So, yeah, its a real thing.

Only times I see people complaining about Streak these days is when it's sorcs(or other classes even!) complaining it's been nerfed too much and should be unnerfed

I haven't even started really using this skill til after the Grand Bolt Escape Nerf so I missed out on the fun

It is definitely not a very viable "escape" skill as it is. Offensive one sure, so are gap closers. Seems weird they'd nerf Streak like that but leave Cloak as is but oh well.

The only thing about streak that needs to be changed is its ability to ignore roots.

When you're hit by talons or criple, you can just streak through like nothing happened. That's kind of op because every other class, even magicka classes need to dodge roll to escape.

Sorcs should be required to use dodge roll once in a while to even the playing field, just like everyone else.

The whining isn't as widespread as before but I am seeing it being called "spammable" when it really isn't. I was hoping posting this would end some unnecessary sorc hate. (don't mention shields, that's a story for another thread).

ive tried to do the same, IT NEVER WORKS

it just serves to inflame more people

but take heart in this fact

forums are a very very poor representation of the player base, its likely most people find no fault in many of the things that are B%^$#ed about and whined about here on the forums

do this, try your best to ignore the nerf posts, or if you cant, leave a small note of disagreeing and move on

better for your health you stay out of this debate as much as possible and let the devs test and develop the issue on their own
The pvpfirst crowd is a very very vocal minority, its taken along time, but i think ZOS is starting to tune them out, if only a little

Streak needs to be unnerfed it USED to be OP when people was stupid and didnt know how to gap close and people still are stupid and dont know how to gap close, right now if I try bolt escape away 90% of the time I fail as people spam gap closers. stack speed buffs and chase me, etc

Just like dragon knights scales used to be OP when people didnt know how to use skills that ignore scales

The damage from streak is pathetic and the stun I dont even break cc not work the waste of stamina

Calm down bro, it hasn't directly been in a thread for a while but ive seen several comments about it. Im not going to post those comments because 1. Im on an iphone and it would take forever. 2. It would take forever to even find the specific comments in the threads. A message i received on Xbox inspired me to post this, so.....story time......

I was 1v2ing reds in Thornblade when a larger group that obviously would kill me approached and closed in on me. So i thought trying to run would be funner then standing there and getting zerged down and Tbagged. So some how i got away and i guess one of them remembered my gamertag and messaged me reading:

" lol streak away little gay a** sorc. Stack your shields to the sky and keep streaking away because we all know without that we would have *ucking *** you"

We kept arguing after that about how op sorcs are and he kept saying streak was getting nerfed so you cant spam it. Clearly he didnt know that it already was nerfed and doesn't know sorcs very well.

So i wondered if everyone who still complains about streak is just uneducated about other classes or didn't notice it was nerfed, or is just plain dumb.

So i made this to educate the uneducated.

A root is a form of cc. By streaking through a root you are using magicka to break that cc. Anytime I fight a sorc, they NEVER dodge roll. Always streak. I have yet to see a sorc dodge roll and I've been playing pvp since the game cane out on console.

Dk talons at close range=streak through dk and stun him.
Nb criple at long range=streak through and keep fighting.

lol, cloak=almost hide but more mobile, for stam builds only for crit damage isnt worth to much, better to use magica to utility etc, not only for cloak for damage lol

+ with topic...while we are with snipe cc...then only nb is able to use it...but wait, nb is able to use cc with all all possible stamina skills with expensive cloak (please not mistake this with magica nb cloak spam)

It works best offensively. Only in IC, where mobs are so thick, do I actually escape with it any more.

I've actually done that... right off a cliff... felt pretty dumb...
