Been playing since beta and never thought I would still be here over 2 years later. I almost left when I ran out of solo content after about 6 months, but thankfully found a few awesome guilds to get me involved in end-game. I have been gaming since I got a NES in '85 and have spent more hours in this game than any other by a long shot. It is the most beautiful game I have ever played and the community is like no other. When working correctly, the PVP environment is the most fun I have ever had against other people, and trials back in the day were so much fun.

All that being said, I am starting to feel like my days in ESO are numbered. I have always been more of a PVE player, but definitely enjoy cyrodiil. Problem is that I just can't deal with the lag in PVP. Its that simple. I leave after the first major lag issue, and that doesnt take long these days. The balance issues are something that I dont think will every be 100% sorted out, and that's okay, but the lag is game breaking in my humble opinion.

As for PVE, you can only run the same content so many times. The RNG is the most frustrating thing I have ever dealt with in a video game. There are so many layers of RNG to deal with. I am to the point where I need to grind a handful of places for a few very specific pieces that might never come. All of this would be to likely get gear that is maybe 1-2% better than a crafted set I already have, so the motivation is not there. There is no incentive to run a vast majority of the content right now. I need 2 very specific pieces out of ICP, a very specific weapon from VMA, a very specific helm from COA, and a very specific set of shoulders from dailys.

Ultimately I am not sure that I like the big picture plan for this game, or at least what I am guessing it is based on the actions of the devs. In the last 2 DLCs, they have done nothing to make cyro better in any meaningful way. It is been almost a year since we got new four man content. The new trial is admittedly really nice, but in typical ZOS fashion, it has 2 difficulty modes: laughably easy and NIGHTMARE. The other trials are not scaled, so they fall into the laughably easy category, with very little incentive other than a random weekly reward.

90% of the new content is focused towards single player PVE. I get that this sells copies of the game to TES fanboys (I am one afterall), but it does nothing to keep the main player base around. I feel like they are simply trying to round out a second version of skyrim, only they plan to release a small piece of it every 3 months. The new solo content does nothing to progress your character other than some XP and a few skill points, save for VMA, which is its own infuriating gear grind that I wont go into. I believe there are a few steps that need to be taken ASAP or this game will begin to collapse.

    1. Abandon any and all balancing issues, new content, pretty much everything, until you fix cyro lag. I am a PVE player mostly, and still believe this is the most important issue facing this game. Ultimately, I think the problem is that new content should be released on a schedule (quarterly or whatever), but balance and bugs should be dealt with on their own independent time frame. These patches keep bombing on launch because they are trying to do too many things at once.

    2. Replace the RNG system with something better. So many options that I wont go into, but it would be great if they could spread the good loot (or tokens) around to a few more places. In other words, give us a reason to run a dungeon other than ICP or WGT.

    3. Scale old trials and DSA, and make the loot worth something. This would breath life into so many PVE guilds that are barely hanging on.

    4. Add more 4-man content with EVERY patch. This is the bread and butter of the PVE side of an MMO. There are so many regular dungeons that could be scaled, so half of the legwork is already done. If they did one a quarter, that is like 2 more years of content.

To me ESO is the best mmo on the market. Until now it's the only game i enjoyed to a point every time a DLC comes out i feel i want to buy and play it because i'm sure i'm going to like it.

I took a break for a little time because of work and because i wanted to try something else... and at the end ESO was the only game i could think myself going back into and now here i am building a new character after buying the thief guild.

The community (at least in game, i didn't really have access to the forums until now so i have no clue) i always found very nice if not for some very few people and this only adds up to the enjoyment.

My hope is that in the future we'll see a 1 vs 1 or team pvp arena like the one in ES: Oblivion.. that would add up a LOT of very nice stuff for players that gets too much lag in cyrodill open world, and give a whole lot of durability to the whole game adding a challenging experience for bot mid and end game ^^

Still having fun here. Guild still going strong. Been playing since pc launch. NA PC AD. Btw AD quit taking everything in Haderus, us stomping reds and blues is great but if they don't have nothing they won't play. It's demoralizing to them even though they outnumber us at the start of each campaign. It was demoralinf to AD when a certain red guild would be Emp all the tine and and take every thing every night. Or when a certain blue guild would run multiple raid groups and rofl stomp the map.
Sorcerna, proud beta sorc. RIP April 2014 to May 31 2016 DArk Brotherhood. Out of retirement for negates and encases. Sorcerna will be going back into retirement to be my main crafter Fall 2018. The game still has some challenging content at endgame which keeps me interested. For content that's lost its challenge we've come up with our own challenges, 6-Player Hel Ra anyone? ZOS is actively making changes to tune and improve the game. There are some beautiful zones in this game. Most importantly I've met friends who, like me, have been playing since day 1 on the PC. We still find fun things in the game.

I still don't get to play as much as I'd like so I think that means I'm still having fun. If I really didn't enjoy it, I'd play something else. That said, I'm concerned about the future of the game and I'm frustrated with some decisions Zenimax is making.

But it's kind of like dating. When I get to the point that I really don't want to spend my time with this person anymore, I'll end the relationship and move on.

Silly question. Who would continue to play if they were not having fun?

People who only get enjoyment out of complaining and wallowing in their own misery. Yes, they exist.

I love this game so much, but the lag in pvp is frustrating as hell. Now that the group finder is broken as hell, it's even more frustrating...

I also hate the RNG aspect of this game. I have wasted so much time and resources chasing RNG items. Its more frustrating than fun. It feels like work. It is so arbitrary and unfair that some players are better equipped simply because they are luckier than others. I got so tired of grinding the same content over and over for nothing that I refuse to do it anymore. If I didn't enjoy PvP so much I would have quit this game a long time ago. I will forever be handicapped in PvP because of RNG and that ticks me off.

I love this game. I can honestly say that I have not thought of quitting even once. I have taken small break to play other games but I never completely abandoned it. How could I? I love the story, the gameplay, and the atmosphere of it. Sure it has its ups and downs but it will always bring me joy. I have met some amazing people during my travels through Tamriel as well. One of my first friends in the game, who is an amazing healer btw (you know who you are if you're reading this), brought me into an amazing guild where I finally found people to play with. Shout out to the Knights of Nirn you guys are awesome! Im always looking forward to new content and I love seeing what new things are coming.

I still play the game a lot, but I think it is more because of all the time I have invested in it and not because it is still fun. Weird answer, right? I've been playing since Beta. My main character I think has around 134 days played time. I had lots of fun in the beginning. I took my first break when the Champion Points system was introduced. I took about 2 months off. Played a few other games while I went through my "I hate ESO" phase. I then got the itch again and came back. Been back for a few months and was having a lot of fun at first but recently have started to get bored again.

Its all about the people you have to play with you. Many people have quit due to their frustration. Many guilds have broken up. I saw a good amount of the most active players in one of my guilds quit to start playing Black Desert. I have a core of about 6 people who I play consistently with, but it is getting stale again.

I love this game. I hate this game. I hope the future DLC brings life to it again for me.

I've been playing for two years and -just- hit VR16 with my main last night.

I love exploring, and looking at stuff and really taking my time and reading things. Though there was a period of a few months where the game lost a little luster for me. However, now that the group finder works and I can run dungeons back to back all day long, I'm right back in there, probably deeper than I ever was before.

    Love the dungeons.

Well as I mentioned in my original post...I miss the occasional /lurk here on the forums.

IDK if you noticed from the posts in this thread @ZOS_RichLambert but there are still quite a few people who are actually still enjoying their time in Tamriel ;)

I get that the ZOS staff is busy keeping our favorite game up and running and that the feed back from these forums can get a bit grumpy at times... but the occasional post (or /lurk) from the team at least lets everyone know you are listening :)

Anyway, not trying to "summon the genie" or anything like that...

Just wanted to say that even though we can be a rather unruly crowd at times, at least this player is still having a great time playing ESO. And it looks like I'm not alone.

    Cheers ZOS Team :)

I am having a lot of fun. More so after the Theives guild patch. I have 3 toons atm. Stam sorc, Magika sorc, Magika nightblade. All the time spent on Magika nightblade lattely even though I just spent around 400k for gear and respec for my stam sorc. A lot of fun for pvp for mageblade. Performance is bad but most of the time it isn't game breaking for me since the server is not even close to full when I play. And when it is full I avoid cyrodill and go imperial city for lag free pvp. I took some pretty cool action screenshots last night. I will post them later
