So I just logged in for the first time in like 3 months and was wondering how things have been going and if anything major has changed yet. How was the Thieves Guild DLC?

Thanks ;)

the worst DLC / patch ever, a metric *** ton of bugs were introduced, better wait for the next one or if you want to play its pretty much the same game but buggier

There seems to be a lot of anger and frustration on the forums, so I thought I'd get in first and say the game still seems really popular despite some persistent bugs. The thieves guild dlc is surprisingly small, but it introduced loads of immersive new mechanics that I expect we'll see in future content. And the new gear is fun and easy to aquire.

Changes? Some chamges to the champion system gave magicka characters a boost, but the big changes (removal of veteran ranks and changes to stamina characters) are coming with dark brotherhood in a couple of months.
#1 tip (Re)check your graphics settings periodically - especially resolution.

If you had logged in a week or so earlier you could have gotten the free 100% xp boost for seven days. Other then that the games about the same. Oh, they've added goats...

Ask it ingame and you'll get a much better idea for yourself. These forums are toxic......as are my underpants at this time of night.

This^^^ pretty much sums it up.

    great!

    loved it.

played through twice so far with different char and different choices, still lotsa fun.

I would say it was as good as orsinium DLC but smaller, of course, and i hope they continue the good work with Dark brotherhood out in the next couple of months.

I'd say its on an upswing - there are glimmers of hope and lots of new players. Better than a few months ago, but worse than the beginning.

The Thieves Guild DLC, imo, was better than the Imperial City DLC but not as good as the Orsinium DLC. As far as compelling content went, the Thieves Guild was simply too small, and its content too scattered to be of much interest to many individuals.

Ultimately however, the Thieves Guild did do what it aimed for--mainly fleshing out the Justice System. New thieving activities, a new passive skill line and other knick-knacky things like troves have been added. Which is good if that's your thing.

Despite what anyone says, get the DLC if you want it.
But my advice? I suspect you'll get the most enjoyment out of it if you spread out how many thieving activities you do. The actual DLC area is quite small, and apart from Maw of Lorkhaj, is fairly easy to get out of the way. Then all that's left is the new thieving mechanics, and those can get stale pretty quick if you focus on playing them exclusively. I say play as you do normally (questing, PvP, group content) but only do the various thieving activities to spice it up every once in a while. Might make the novelty last longer.

Game is as unstable as it's ever been. ZOS seems to be in no hurry to fix anything, but they love putting new content in the crown store.

TG was a good DLC for its price (solid story, interesting characters, etc) but a really bad patch, with tons of bugs.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.
