If you think the console graphics look good enough for you to throw more money at the game,
save up and get a good gaming PC instead -- that way the money you spend will make the game look even better.

ESO is definitely one of the best looking MMO's I've ever seen. I would love to hear if anyone knows of a better looking one, honestly. I would check it out. The closest I've seen (and I will admit my MMO experience is relatively new and limited) is BDO, and ESO blows it away in terms of game play and content, no contest.

I think Black Desert Online is better graphically. But that's just me.

I tried FF14 for a while and yeah...severely disappointed with the textures, but man do they have a lot of cute emotes, but obviously that wasnt a reason enough to stay.

I do the same! I rarely play the Witcher 3 but it is without a doubt one of my most favorite games (and the Last of us) but with games like those, I cant play them everyday as I get way too emotional xD this is why ESO is perfect because it is immersive but I dont get attached to npcs as much, as I normally only have to see them for a few missions and not through the whole game, which reminds me how sad I was when I finished the mission in Wrothgar and didnt see Eveli anymore.

SP versus MMO isn't really fair...

Elder scrolls has a certain aesthetic -- like it or not -- but I do agree with OP that on a console, when the right light hits its stunning. And the models are much better than Skyrim (imo).

I RP in my head sometimes (alot, lol) and I can just feel my vampire wincing as the sun rises. No doubt PCs can rock the graphics, but as a former PC gamer (need a new rig so laying PS4) the consoles play quite well. The controller especially works well.

Digressing...I do wish we had those add-ons for console, though.

Another thing I think they have done well are the armor sets. I love painting mine getting that special look. I think the devs good do a lot better in the store -- I wish they had Trion's creativity and volume -- but that's a minor point.

@Gorilla no of course not, comparing single players with mmos doesnt really work, we were both just giving a suggestion as a totally different game style but that has good graphics as well.
OP if you didnt play the witcher, please mind that it is not a game where you can create your "mini-me" like ESO =D.

I agree with you, I always hear pc gamers saying that its not worth to play an mmo on the console but I disagree so much... Graphics are great, lag is WAY less than on PC, and the servers are more quiet (but that is something that not everybody enjoys).

Trion, the worst gaming company ever?- seriously?- creative?- they are a bunch of money grabbers with no expertise in making a game whatsoever. They are just good in cashing in on whales with random boxes, which are just selling a chance to get something not even a real item.

I play XB1 and think the graphics are great for an MMO. But the graphics on a powerful computer are on a different level. Almost had me wanting to build a new computer, but I just can't give up being able to sit back in my la-z-boy.

ESO graphics in open areas are okay, but IMO there arent enough vistas or panoramic views in this game compared to GW2, mainly because this game has mostly flat areas with mountains acting as walls rather than terrain you can traverse....also the fog distance ruins some potentially amazing views

This game does have awesome graphics in dungeons though, no doubt about it...ESPECIALLY when you get those little cracks of light coming into the cave.

BDO is way nicer graphically for sure...but quests and dialogue are abysmal, and they objects constantly popping into the screen as they load, rather than fading in like ESO

And you can't compare this game to Witcher 3. Witcher 3 has insanely better graphics that make this game look like its 7 years older of a game when you put them side by side, but obviously it's a single player game.

My PC Skyrim has so much detail its insane with some incredibly nice enhanced texture mods, combine that with gtx 970's with their upscale resolution that simulates 4k from my 2k monitor is just intense. Screenshots don't do it justice.

Agree a high end rig with a well graphically modded Skyrim will blow your mind. Then add some music, ambience and sound effect mods and a virtual reality system on the side and you will want to live forever in Skyrim XD

These graphics with Skyrim's art style would be a masterpiece.

In an MMO your framerate would drop significantly as in a Single Player it only loads up to a certain point, everything beyond that point hasn't generated yet until you get close enough. While in an MMO the entire zone is loaded all at once with all the npc's and other players in motion including the ones who are on the other side of the zone. This is also a reason why Cyrodiil can be hectic and laggy, as it has to load all the details at all times including the other players and NPC's from all 3 factions.

You can test it in Skyrim if you enable flying and zoom (not fast travel) across the sky line. If you move fast enough you'll end up seeing the wireframe models without textures of mountains, the ground, trees, buildings, and other things. NPC's not moving or haven't even spawned yet.

That last bit you mentioned has to do with what you have your UGrids setup to in SkyrimPrefs.ini. The higher the UGrids, the farther cells loads up in the distance before you get there.

ESO has the best graphics, adventuring, questing, vamp and ww content I've seen in an MMO. They negate this with serious bugs that re-occur with DLC's, limited inventory space, expensive xp scrolls which for me place this game a little below some others I play.

If you like on Xbox One you should look at it on PC :) ESO gfx is really eye candy and i love it to bad ZoS have problem 64-bites system which make random DC without any cause:

But yeah the gfx in ESO is really wonderful to look at.

The game looks fine to me in 1920x1080. Even better running a resolution of 2560x1440. Having a 4gb DX12 card helps a lot too.

Imo they should hire some of the Skyrim/Oblivion modders. :)
Because vanilla Skyrim is kinda bland and unpolished, but it shines with mods. Just compare npcs from this mod to vanilla ones, or look at these textures... And additional shaders make the game look stunning.

I don't like the very bland and "saving private mud" muteness of the color palette. It's not more natural, no matter what people say. Not any more natural than an over used HUE. Skyrim was Bleak, but it was by no means muted or all looked like various shades of mud. Especially the sky, it was a a true wonder to behold. And mods just made it even better. This game has good meshes that the items are built out of , but the colors themselves could definitely afford to be more realistic, and less washed out ww2 movie. I keep seeing people post" beautiful" screen shots. Where only 3-4 of the 27 shots actually look really good. But even then all 27 shots have the same 4 color schemes repeating despite being in 15 different areas of the world. It gives a real sameness feeling to everywhere in the game. The only places so far that feel like their own places are the Thief, DB, and Wrothgar DLCs, and Cold Harbor. Everywhere else feels like I've already seen it when I get to it.
