ESO is definitely one of the best looking MMO's I've ever seen. I would love to hear if anyone knows of a better looking one, honestly. I would check it out. The closest I've seen (and I will admit my MMO experience is relatively new and limited) is BDO, and ESO blows it away in terms of game play and content, no contest.

I agree with you, I haven't played enough Witcher 3 myself because I'm always doing something in ESO

SP versus MMO isn't really fair...
Elder scrolls has a certain aesthetic -- like it or not -- but I do agree with OP that on a console, when the right light hits its stunning. And the models are much better than Skyrim (imo).
I RP in my head sometimes (alot, lol) and I can just feel my vampire wincing as the sun rises. No doubt PCs can rock the graphics, but as a former PC gamer (need a new rig so laying PS4) the consoles play quite well. The controller especially works well.
Digressing...I do wish we had those add-ons for console, though.
Another thing I think they have done well are the armor sets. I love painting mine getting that special look. I think the devs good do a lot better in the store -- I wish they had Trion's creativity and volume -- but that's a minor point.

My PC Skyrim has so much detail its insane with some incredibly nice enhanced texture mods, combine that with gtx 970's with their upscale resolution that simulates 4k from my 2k monitor is just intense. Screenshots don't do it justice.

Agree a high end rig with a well graphically modded Skyrim will blow your mind. Then add some music, ambience and sound effect mods and a virtual reality system on the side and you will want to live forever in Skyrim XD

These graphics with Skyrim's art style would be a masterpiece.

In an MMO your framerate would drop significantly as in a Single Player it only loads up to a certain point, everything beyond that point hasn't generated yet until you get close enough. While in an MMO the entire zone is loaded all at once with all the npc's and other players in motion including the ones who are on the other side of the zone. This is also a reason why Cyrodiil can be hectic and laggy, as it has to load all the details at all times including the other players and NPC's from all 3 factions.
You can test it in Skyrim if you enable flying and zoom (not fast travel) across the sky line. If you move fast enough you'll end up seeing the wireframe models without textures of mountains, the ground, trees, buildings, and other things. NPC's not moving or haven't even spawned yet.
