Seriously Guys...The Crown Store could be SO much better

First of all, let me say I fully support the game and I subscribe every month... BUT...

We need MORE items, a vast amount of items to choose from in terms of costume armor, WEAPONS, Shields, you name it. Mounts... Mounts are things people like to collect and there should be a heap of them in there. ESO is missing an opportunity to make a large sum of money via virtual items... Look at games like Tera... Vast amounts of things you can buy in the store. Don't use WOW as your example, their store is also weak as compared to others....

However, offering ONE SINGLE outfit at 20 bucks is a rip off, especially when it doesn't look all that great to begin with, isn't dye-able and you can get THREE other outfits of a different choice for 7 bucks...C'mon guys, you've done a great job with the game the past year... now, catch up with the store, keep the prices reasonable and offer many things, rotate out things to make them a bit more ''rare'' and people will flock to the store....

Oh, and 5k crowns for a portable banker and merchant? Seriously? Lets be real....

I think they're choosing to gradually build up the number of crown store items. Which makes sense for several reasons, such as:
    1) A lot of people were quite negative about the crown store at first, and having only a few items (none of which were necessary) may have helped mitigate that.
    2) It means people may choose their favourites of the items currently on offer, and then new favourites later on, instead of just buying the ones they like most and then nothing else. (Also some people will buy the new things just because they're new.)
    3) It enables them to keep announcing new things which helps keep up interest in between DLC, and fits with the subscription people getting crowns each month.
    4) It enables them to take feedback on board when developing new items. Like releasing the alliance hero costumes from the trailer, and making the altmer one somewhat closer to the original than the nord one after so many people complained.

I do agree that many items are too expensive, and it's not just ZOS who are guilty of this. I feel like a lot of companies have forgotten the 'micro' aspect of 'microtransactions'. If I'm comparing the price of a costume in-game to the cost of a DLC pack or a meal out in real-life (as in lunch for 2 with no booze) something's wrong. Especially because it's highly unlikely I'm going to choose the virtual costume.

I came back to the game with IC and from then to now, the crown store has grown steadily making more and more available all the time. I think they are doing greAt as far as what that are bringing to the table.

Not so satisfied with the way the glass motif went down, hero costumes cost and assistants that are lacking functions.

I have to say between trying to have choices, and trying not to be too bluntly PTW they seem to be doing okay.

I would cite the limits on the assistants as an example of that.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

The only problem I see currently is the cost for the items offered. Some are okay, some are simply outrageous. Especially when considering the limitations associated with said items.

Otherwise, I rather prefer the slower speed of release and the gradual building of a much larger inventory.

I agree with the OP, the Crown store is lacking and could use improvement indeed.

The Crown Store will probably improve with the passage of time. It really is a new venture for ZoS and they will want to gauge opinion on what sells and what doesn't and for how much, just as with a real life shop.

I know people that dislike some shops I like in RL, as there are dislikes with me for their preferences. So it is with the CS.

The new Elven Hero costume is my favorite though..

I'm not even kidding. I actually really, really like it. My womenz look great in it. A bit steep for the Crowns but fashion sense is good cents.
