As a magicka DK, you would prefer light? As opposed to using 5/1/1 to take advantage of maximum magicka potential? I'm sorry, I think you actually lost this one. Medium divines does trump a light infused for most magicka dks.
There's not anything wrong with having an infused light helm, but your OP is really cocky and arrogant for having not gotten a BiS piece of gear.... and several months after the dungeon was released. That's like me saying "Hey, suck it everybody, because I just got an Eternal Yokeda piece on my first clear of SO yesterday!"freespirit wrote: »Your crit seems a bit low!

If 20-30% is "slightly," then yes.
magicka dks do better with valkyn skoria,
you lose
I'm already wearing 2 piece Valkyn skoria... Read the rest of these posts. You lose for not reading before you post.
Kena and Skoria? Lol. So which one are you wearing?
I send all of my extra gear to my alts, because I don't want to decon it from my bank by mistake. I logged into my alt just the other and counted how many kena helms and shoulders I have... let's just say, if you want to scro

Did you read the the post in its entirety? I stated the gear I wear. First, scroll up and read it. You'll see I currently wear 5/1/1 with a medium shoulder. 2 piece Valkyn skoria. Second, I just though it was funny that I got the helmet, regardless of trait and type, on the first veteran white gold tower clear I've ever done when people run it a ton of times. You took the "arrogance" tone out of text from a post when in fact I said nothing regarding "haha I have this and you dont" or anything in that nature. I'm not even gonna wear Molag Kena lol its going in my bank to gather dust. Third medium helms and medium shoulders have the same amount of armor if you weren't aware, so since my shoulders are medium, yeah I want light helm because my chest, the highest armor rating, is heavy.
You should keep making assumptions though. What was that old saying? When you assume you make an ASS out of U and ME? Get it? It spells "assume" haha

Edit: Oops, I forgot to mention when I was here earlier that your desire to "win" at everything you see, say and do is giving away your real age here. You realize this game is 17+ right?

LOL. Before you try to school someone, maybe you should actually take a look at armor values?Oreyn_Bearclaw wrote: »You spelled "Heavy Divines" wrong. Haha.
Medium Divines is the most valuable shoulder, but heavy Divines is the most valuable helm for most damage sets assuming you are magic. If you are wearing a crafted set, then it doesnt really matter as long as its divines because you can make your chest piece heavy, but if you want to wear a drop set like Scathing, you need medium shoulders and heavy helm to truly min/max.
- Chest: "Large" for enchantment (full enchantment potency), "Extra-Large" for armor value (highest armor)
- Head: "Large" for enchantment (full enchantment potency), "Large" for armor value
- Legs: "Large" for enchantment (full enchantment potency), "Large" for armor value
- Shoulders: "Small" for enchantment (40% enchantment potency), "Large" for armor value
- Feet: "Small" for enchantment (40% enchantment potency), "Large" for armor value
- Hands: "Small" for enchantment (40% enchantment potency), "Medium" for armor value
- Waist: "Small" for enchantment (40% enchantment potency), "Small" for armor value
There are just two tiers for enchantment potency: large and small, for 100% and 40% potency.
But there are four tiers for armor values: chest, then head = legs = shoulders = feet, then hands, and finally waist.
The armor value for head and shoulders are identical. heavy head + medium shoulders is 100% identical when it comes to armor value as medium head + heavy shoulders.
A truly min-maxed magicka DPS build will have heavy chest, one of medium head/shoulder/legs/feet, and light everything else. However, I prefer the "lower 5" to be light, so that I can swap in dropped sets like Scathing and SPC, so with that restriction, then it's heavy/medium for head/shoulders (doesn't matters which one is which) and the "lower 5" are all light.
For stamina DPS, however, the extra crit chance from all-medium is quite lucrative in PvE, and, depending on your build, can be worth the trade-off from losing 5/1/1.
And, finally, Kena is mediocre, esp. with them finally fixing Skoria in TG. For DKs and Templars, you need to dump Kena for Skoria. And for sorcs and nightblades, Nerien'eth is a competitive (and often superior) option.

My advice is change your mundus when you PVE. You should be running thief in PVE for sure. In PvP, its a little more flexible. I would go with atro personally, but to each his own. My DK runs 72% crit in PVE with about 41,000 magic.
I just wanted to post this to say how lucky it was I got the helm my first run... That's all lol this wasn't about builds/stats. Then just like I thought... I was attacked by 2 stamina night blades haha they crawl from the shadows @Autolycus

Yeah I hear you, I was thief, switched to atronarch for pvp though cuz most people wear impenetrable. I wear full impenetrable for pvp with S&B and resto. 5 julianos 5 VD and 2 VS. 5/1/1 heavy chest, medium VS shoulder. Prismatic defense glyphs on all armor pieces. I'm at 31k magicka 29.5k health and 18.5k stamina with tri Stat food for pvp. I have like 445 champion points or something around that.
I need the stamina for blocking and to use shielded charge (unfortunately) lol

You can't blame him for having RNG luck either. The game gave him a light infused which still works. You may lose some resistance, but it's not much. I have a sorc that uses Molag Kena infused head (heavy) and my max magicka with food and without Undaunted yet is 41k+ with a little over 71% crit since I use the thief stone. All my other pieces are divines with one infused, I still do fine.

I think the reality is that if you want to be competitive in both PVE and PVP, you need two sets of gear. There might be some overlap, but prismatic glyphs or impen pieces are a DPS loss in PVE.

I'm more harping on the fact that he's gloating that he got a helm with a bad trait since some people don't have helms. I mean really, that's just stupid. Also he loses no resistance if he does it right.

Somebody's bitterlol its just a game bro I just got lucky that's all I was saying
I'm in 5/5 Julianos 5/5 Vicious Death 2/2 Valkyn skoria. I think in my full VD I'm around 46% ish. I drop the sword and shield when I pve and use 3 piece willpower arcane and destro staff so that's where I lose the 4 piece crit bonus from VD because I drop my sword and shield
